Volkswagen id3.

had a very disappointing experience…
had a very disappointing experience with Volkswagen Kidlington Oxford.
I saw a car advertised on their website and called to arrange a test drive. Before I could proceed, I was asked to pay a £200 deposit, which I did.
After paying the deposit, I was repeatedly given different test drive dates and excuses. First, I was booked for Saturday at 1pm, then I was told to come on Sunday instead. After that, the appointment was changed again to Monday or Tuesday. This constant rescheduling immediately made me feel that something was not right.
Over the next two to three weeks, I kept being told different stories. At one point, I was told the car was not ready. Then I was told the car was not at the dealership. Later, I was told the car had arrived and was going through checks, MOT, and servicing, and that I would receive a call after 4pm to confirm collection.
After waiting all day, I was finally contacted and told that the car had “some problems” and now needed to be sent back, meaning I could no longer buy it.
Throughout this entire process, I felt I was constantly being misled. Every update seemed to contradict the previous one, and I was given different explanations each time. My £200 deposit was tied up for weeks while I was repeatedly promised appointments and updates that never happened.
This was extremely unprofessional, frustrating, and a complete waste of my time. I expected much better communication and honesty from a Volkswagen dealership.
I would not recommend this dealership based on my experience. Most Horrible experience . Rosetta

My vehicle is not fit for purpose
I CAN SEE THAT THIS IS THE US SITE WHEN I MEANT IT FOR THE UK _ BUT BE WARNED!!
I'm sorry to say this after many happily owned VWs but I have been sold a vehicle that is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and no-one is prepared to help a loyal customer.
I have an ID3 purchased new in Feb 2024.
I was persuaded to accept a "new special edition".
Dreadful mistake.
It has low-profile tyres and I've just had my 7th flat in those 26 months.
I drive defensively, I take longer routes home to avoid pot-holes - all to no avail. The tyres just don't last and when you have a flat in an electric vehicle that's it! You can't limp anywhere!
These particular wheels have zero alternative tyre sizes. The price of new wheels is ... £1,400 EACH!!!!
I'm stuck with this nightmare for another 2 years.
No-one at Volkswagen will help.
If anyone at VW tries to offer you a "special edition" walk away!

Incompetent.
Oxford South. Non-responsive to emails, refundable deposit not paid back after more than 3 weeks. Repeat phone calls from me provide no information on the refund, just the usual deflection. Even the manager I spoke to won't give me a straight answer. I'm having to take a £500 deposit return to the small claims court now - unbelievable.

Terribel Exprience with Safety Recall
I received a recall letter from Volkswagen for my ID.4 in late December 2025. Prior to receiving this letter, the vehicle was operating without any issues. Shortly afterwards, an SOS fault appeared. Given the timing, I reasonably assumed this fault may be related to the recall.
I contacted Marshall VW, who scheduled an appointment for April. After waiting several months, I brought the vehicle in as arranged. However, I was then informed that they could not proceed with the recall or even carry out diagnostics due to the existing SOS fault. I was advised that I would need to pay approximately £200 for an initial diagnostic, with additional costs likely for repair.
I raised this concern with Volkswagen directly, as this did not seem reasonable for a safety recall. I was informed that such decisions are made by the retailer and that Volkswagen could not intervene if the retailer is unable to proceed due to the fault.
Since then, I have reviewed various owner forums and social media groups and found that this is not an isolated case. Many ID.4 owners experiencing similar SOS faults report that the issue is often related to a battery replacement and can typically be identified upon connection to diagnostic systems. Despite this, customers are still being asked to pay for diagnostics before any recall work is considered. At the same time, they are told that the safety recall cannot be carried out due to this fault.
This situation is extremely concerning. It effectively places customers in a position where they are required to pay to resolve a fault that may be directly related to a known recall, simply to allow that recall to be completed. I find this approach unreasonable and difficult to justify, and it raises serious concerns about how these cases are being handled.

Our 12 year old Tiguan was just perfect…
Our 12 year old Tiguan was just perfect apart fro. Being a manual gearbox.
When the time came to change cars because of a leg injury we chose an automatic VW T-Roc that I had been longing for.
Sadly as the car is brilliant the touch screen and software is diabolically frustrating and making me regret buying the later car.
Manufacturers decide what they think we want and often get it wrong.
The screen menus tab leads you to a dozen more menus to set the car up as you want only to have them revert to default again the next time the car is started.
Service information is not available to the owner/driver but only agents.
I'm beginning to dislike using the car.

Walked into service to pick up my car…
Walked into service to pick up my car and stood in the lobby a good 10 mins and still wasn’t acknowledged. Another woman walks in and she gets acknowledgment right away. Absolutely not! Next time I’ll take my car across town for servicing. I don’t like to throw the race card but it’s pretty obvious when I’m standing there for 10 mins not getting greeted by anyone and someone of a different hue walks in and gets greeted and helped right away. Funny how the treatment is a lot different when you guys are making a sale. Work on your customer service skills. Very poor behavior from the service staff.
