On the phone with these outright morons and was transfered 12 times over the course of an hour to different departments just to get a replacement i.d card. I would have done it online, however, their website doesn't work. Tell me how a company this large can be so unbelievably bad at what you do? I can go jump in line at a Chick-Fil-A, place my order and get exactly what I ordered, with a smile and warm greeting the first time around, yet it takes me getting transfered 12 times just to get a dental plan card?!! How in gods name have you all stayed in business this long being this utterly incompetent?!! Cannot wait until open season to drop these fools!!

Ripped off despite being with United for 7 years…
Despite being with United for 7 years and NOT using my dental benefits, when I finally had to have a cracked tooth crowned and my wisdom teeth out, they denied the whole thing saying it all was unneccessary. The Dentist and Surgeon strongly disagreed. My teeth were rotted and one was cracked. Now they denied the 1st appeal and down graded their payments.
UHC - Trust the doctors/dentists. They dont pull teeth for fun. Only when necessary. Nightmare company. Will file another appeal and report back if I am treated appropriately.

This is the worst healthcare insurance
This is the worst healthcare insurance. The WORST! They don’t cover anything! I thought the point of insurance is to help cover the cost. My doctors visit, they paid $28 and I have to pay the rest of it, x rays, bloodwork, medication. One visit I paid almost $500 and it’s only a check up. I paid $68 for a cream. Do I really have to experience something catastrophic so they will cover the succeeding bill? What is the point? I know I am not alone in this.

Customer no-service!!
Customer no-service!!! Started @11am, spoke with 4 different reps, finally got one that had a working phone that didn't break up @4pm. At one time was on 3way with my provider and she could only hear every third word. One rep. Constantly interrupting me,not listening to my questions. Would give 0 stars if I could. Not first time, seems to be their theme, be prepared to waste hours talking to them. Am leaving UNH/AARP ASAP!!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Most barely speak English and I’ve yet to find them at all knowledgeable. Sounds like they are just ruffling through some manual that takes them a very long time or they keep transferring you to someone else who doesn’t know anything!! Try explaining a prescribed shoe insert??? Got absolutely no where. There monthly explanation of benefits is so confusing and most of the time they show same item for months?? What is that about

AARP United Healthcare Sucks
AARP United Healthcare is the worse insurance company I ever had. Don't get fooled by their ads and fall in their traps and lies.

Since Sept 2019 I've used the same out-of-network Behavioral Health provider for twice-monthly visits. I used to mail in the claims, then asked if I could fax in for speedier service. For the most part, I waited 4-6 weeks to get paid as the subscriber. Six months ago, I had to follow up on the status (which had become a regular necessity) only to be told that the provider (same one) wasn't authorized. After going through hoops to get this issue resolved, I was told that claims were pending, awaiting proof of payment. I had never been asked for this at all in writing, by email or phone call. I told them I hadn't paid the provider because I was waiting for payment by UHC. After numerous phone calls, interminable waiting and hang-ups, I asked if the provider could be paid directly. One person told me yes, and she'd resubmit the claim that way - which delayed the process by another several weeks. Next time I followed up, I was told that out-of-network providers could not be paid directly, but that I would have to provide proof of payment. My provider dummied up a paid receipt to get this moving along. Set the process back again by several weeks. My next call was elevated to a "specialist" who promised "priority handling" within five days. Eight days later, and the claims are "still in process." When I asked what that meant, fifth rep I spoke to couldn't answer or explain. So my claims - submitted and received by UHC on 2/8/2021 are still open almost three months later with no sign of payment in the near future.
I have told every person I spoke to that I will not renew with UHC at the next enrollment, and I will give them a bad review here, on FaceBook, on all social media. I'm sure my claims happened to fall into the nearest waste basket after I said that.
Reading the reviews here, I see that I am in good company.

Great Benefit Emulators (See The…
Great Benefit Emulators (See The Rainmaker novel/film). Mircromanaging my treatment plan and denying the prescribed meds because of the price alone.
Despite the expertise of my specialists, after 3 years on the right combination of meds, Great Benefit, I mean UHC, wants me to try cheaper therapies that we have already tried without success. My health is clearly not their concern, just the cost of my health.
Customer service reps: it's always a different dept that must handle some other detail, an endless wait to be transferred and an accidental disconnection during the transfer. Every time I call.
