I've had UHC for several years. They have the worst customer service agents on Earth. I've called them MANY times and EVERY single time, I ended up talking to someone in The Philippines, who either didn't understand very much English OR they had the intelligence of a 5 year old child. So now that I'm ending my relationship with them, I finally figured out how to solve this debacle. Ask the Phillipines agent to have someone in the USA call you back the next day. Trust me - they will do it. Trust me - you will talk to a MUCH smarter person and you are MUCH more likely to be given accurate information !

Stay away! The representative requirement is that they must have a negative IQ. The escalation department is also worthless! Any other healthcare company must have better customer representatives.

NEVER TRUST THIS SNAKE IN THE GRASS COMPANY,,,THEIR SHORT TERM POLICIES ARE A TRAP,,,THEY WANT TRUMP TO QUICKLY PUSH THROUGH SHORT TERM POLICIES THAT WILL COVER NOTHING..THEY CALL EVERYTHING A PREEXISTING CONDITION SO THEY DO NOT HAVE TO COVER ANYTHING! EVEN THE LONG TERM POLICIES ARE GARBAGE

I am deeply disappointed with my experience as a UnitedHealthcare member. When I needed coverage for a prescribed medication, my appeal was denied despite providing medical documentation and following the proper process. The decision felt more like a rigid adherence to policy than a genuine concern for patient health. The communication throughout this process was frustrating—long letters filled with technical jargon, but little compassion or practical help. Instead of supporting me in managing a serious health condition, UnitedHealthcare placed barriers that left me without the treatment my doctor recommended. Healthcare should be about people, not just paperwork. Unfortunately, UnitedHealthcare has shown me that their priority is cost containment, not patient care. I cannot recommend their services to anyone seeking reliable, supportive healthcare coverage. I strongly encourage others to explore different healthcare options. There are providers who value patients’ well-being and offer clearer, more compassionate support. UnitedHealthcare has failed to meet even the most basic expectations of care and service.

Just spoke with customer service, and it was the usual. The representative sounded uneducated and untrained. She sounded like she was working from home because there was a dog barking in the background. If the company is unwilling to pay a good salary to hire competent, professional sounding representatives, then at least train these people. Customer service is always a disappointing experience.

Incredibly frustrating, purposefully confusing I cannot stand this company. I have them as my health insurance through work and the are incredibly frustrating to deal with. They are not transparent about how they calculate the costs you owe, they have different totals for deductibles depending on which section of the site you are looking at, and they don't post every payment made, (such as when you have paid out of pocket which should go towards your duductible). They overcharge me on a regular basis. My wife is a nurse practitioner who deals with health insurance on a daily basis and confirms that this company makes thing far more confusing than they need to be and ends up overcharging me consistantly.

I am completely disgusted with United Healthcare. Myself and my husband own a landscaping company. We were on a property in Liverpool, New York mowing when this young man pulled up in a SUV. He proceeded to yell at my husband, who was trimming the lawn, that he could not hear the customer, who was standing at the front door. This lady just had hip surgery, and the young man was sent by United Healthcare to transport her to her Dr appointment. This idiot stood at the front of the house, at the bottom of three stairs, waiting for Kathy to come out of the house and tackle the stairs on her own. He did not offer any assistance. My husband went and helped her down the stairs. At this point myself and my husband helped to get her to the SUV. She could not get in the SUV due to the height of the step to enter the vehicle. The young man offered no assistance and when he was told she could not get in the vehicle, he left. HE LEFT THE DRIVEWAY LEAVING HER OUTSIDE AFTER HIP SURGERY HELPLESS. If my husband and I were not there mowing she never would have gotten back in the house. I am completely disgusted with the young man they sent to transport Kathy. His lack of empathy and failure to even offer his arm to Kathy when she was clearly in pain is disgusting. He should be immediately fired and I regret not getting his name.

I’ve had one of the worst experiences with UnitedHealthcare. My doctor has filed appeal after appeal — at least five times since July — for a medication I urgently need. Every time I call, I’m told they haven’t received the medical records, even though my doctor’s office has sent them repeatedly. I am now paying out-of-pocket up to $1,050 per month for a medication that should cost $44. It feels like I’m being lied to and ignored while my health suffers.
