They make it very difficult to cancel. I signed up online, I pay online, I should be able to turn off auto-renew online. However, it doesn't work that way. They also auto-renew plans after changing the price without any authorization.

UHC Vision plan seemed like a scam…
UHC Vision plan seemed like a scam almost. Their policy documents said that you could get 2 pairs of glasses. A full year of premiums costs $155 for the year. They denied certain benefits on my glasses. They only ended up paying about $50 or less after a year of paying 3x that amount for premiums. There's no reason to even have vision insurance if it's like this. Trying to cancel I got someone that could not speak English well and we just went around in circles.

United Healthcare is certainly the…
United Healthcare is certainly the worst healthcare company I’ve ever had. They deny many claims for no reason and require you to understand the details medical codes and such that are only relevant to insurance companies. I’ve had much better experiences with both Aetna and Carefirst who cover necessary tests and don’t require you to understand codes. Also important to note that when you talk to folks at United, they generally couldn’t care less about your life as it’s more of a money racket to them. They will typically blame their own lack of interest and requirement to understand the billing codes at a pretty granular level on your doctor. I’m not surprised that teaching hospitals like John Hopkins refuse to sign contracts with them. I would avoid United unless you really have no other options.

Run as fast as you can
My experience with UnitedHealthcare has been nothing short of awful. I can’t overstate how stressful and exhausting it has been to deal with them. They consistently relay payments to providers late, which has left me stuck in an infuriating cycle: I pay a claim, it gets refunded, and then I’m suddenly responsible for paying it again later. This constant back-and-forth has made managing my medical bills unbelievably confusing and frustrating.
Their help line is equally unhelpful. Every call feels like starting from scratch, and I’ve rarely walked away with actual answers or solutions. For an industry that’s supposed to help people access the medical care they need, I’ve never felt more unimportant, dismissed, and small. Instead of support, I’ve felt trapped.
I genuinely wish my experience were different, but dealing with UnitedHealthcare has been one of the most discouraging parts of managing my health.

United Healthcare is dedicated to its stockholders.
United Healthcare is dedicated to denying services more than it is to providing them. They are so selfish.

UHC CONSUMER BEWARE
I am posting this warning to all UnitedHealthcare (UHC) policyholders regarding the use of their prescribed hearing aid benefits. My experience reveals what appears to be a systemic practice of price inflation that negates the value of the benefit.
The Facts of My Purchase:
In November 2025, I purchased the Jabra Enhance Select 700 OTC hearing aids directly from Jabra for the standard out-of-pocket price of $1,695.00.
Later, upon discovering I had UHC coverage, I went to their portal to use my benefit, planning to return my original purchase and rebuy the aids at a discount.
The Deception:
Jabra Enhance Select 700 w/Premium Care with a "UHC Price" of $2,258.00.
After applying my UHC plan co-pay, the out-of-pocket cost to me would be $1,658.00.
The calculation clearly shows the deceptive inflation:
Actual Retail Price Paid: $1,695.00
UHC Reported "Full Price": $2,258.00
Price Inflation: $563.00 (An artificial increase of over 33% on the base price.)
By inflating the retail price by over $500.00, UHC is making the "discount" from my coverage nearly worthless. My supposed benefit only saves me $37.00 compared to the non-insurance open market price ($1,695.00 - $1,658.00 = $37.00).
My Conclusion & Action:
This practice is highly deceptive. UHC is artificially inflating the price of the product under their negotiated benefit program to absorb the majority of the "discount" that the policyholder should be receiving.
I strongly urge all UHC policyholders to always compare the price on the UHC portal to the standard retail price for any hearing aid before making a purchase. The price quoted by UHC may be significantly inflated.
I will file a formal complaint with UHC demanding an explanation and a price correction, and I will be reporting this potentially fraudulent pricing structure to my State Insurance Commissioner and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Consumer Beware.
