I cannot log into my UHC website now for 12 days. Phone conversations with UHC people are totally useless. Most UHC people are extremely slow to react and do not or cannot understand or communicate intelligently. After multiple UHC Chat attempts I finally got UHC Chat to assist. After 2 days being transferred to 3 different departments, I finally got a ticket to fix the problem (I hope) but it will take 5-7 days. At UHC there is no connection ability internally between department. The left hand cannot communicate with the right hand. Very poor management of UHC..

This is the worst health insurance I…
This is the worst health insurance I have ever had. Their customer service is virtually nonexistent. The people I’ve spoken to in customer service within/outside the Buffalo, New York area were not interested (doing their dishes, yelling at their children) or had absolutely nothing they could do to assist you with the problem. When pushed for further managerial assistance, they outright admitted it was not available for them to escalate the problem. I had this insurance as a retiree whose company used it and continued it with a discounted rate. The discounted rate was a total rip off since the insurance as I discovered when I I did research into other health plans was horrible. I overpaid the outrageous rate and receive only no copays as the big support.I had to fight to have my gynecologist visit paid for which took over a year because there was absolutely no support. United Healthcare refused to pay for my annual gynecologist visit because they claimed I was trying to use 2 annual wellness visits within one calendar year. They claimed they had warned me that a gynecologist visit would not be covered even though I had a premium plan. After threatening them with the possibility of a lawsuit, they paid for the visit as though it was some act of kindness gesture. My new insurance has no premiums and I also have excellent dental benefits. In addition, Ican not only call and get excellent customer support but I have the additional support of a nearby office for assistance.

AARP UNITED HEALTHCARE MEDICARE - SCAMMERS!! LIARS!! CHEATS!!
AARP UNITED HEALTHCARE MEDICARE PART D - They ask for all your medications to quote. Then, once you're in, forget medically necessary; DENY DENY DENY. If it's expensive, they deny.

They have denied my life saving…
They have denied my life saving medications. Their review board believes that someone with stage four kidney failure, simply needs a reduced sodium diet. Their review board apparently has no nephrologist or physician guidance whatsoever. If I simply reduced my sodium with stage four chronic kidney disease, I would blow my kidneys by going into Congestive heart failure again. Apparently these are "laymen" people making "medical" decisions for people that are sick, NOT people with medical degrees.

I’m in diabetic for over five years…
I’m in diabetic for over five years when my company switching insurance for United healthcare I wasn’t aware that they’re gonna give me hell to get my Mangiero medication which is I was 11.6 a A1c and by the Mangiero eyedrop for 6.2 and after I switched to United healthcare my doctor kept prescribing the same medication they rejected and he did it again and they rejected but the funny thing is they approve my sensor that monitor my sugar level when I called they said I have to get document that back to two years that I’ve been diabetic or my A1c have to be over 6.5 so I respond it’s under 65 because of my medication but anywayIt wasn’t easy to get this lab paperwork but after two weeks, I will be able to get the paperwork that say I’m 11.6 and then I gave it to my doctor to submit it. They rejected so I called today on August 12 to ask why medication is rejected she said to me now because it got rejected twice you have to appeal to be able to get approved again. My doctor was nice and he was giving me samples from his clinic for the last three months and now I’m out of medication so bottom line they don’t care about anybody and they are the worst health insurance you can get

UHC has gone downhill dramatically
UHC has gone downhill dramatically! They don't pay claims on time, pay less on claims and give you different answers when you call. Now they have added copays to medical procedures. I will definitely be changing from UHC at the end of the year! Terrible medical insurance!

Avoid this company like the plague
My employer decided to switch insurance providers this fiscal year and went with this one.
This change was supposed to have no impact on my prescriptions or health coverage, as the plan we left was Blue Cross. I called my providers to make sure that they had the new insurance on file once I got my new insurance cards, which took a week to get (which is a really long time considering I am on medication that does not allow for missed doses). I thought all the changes were fine because the insurance company billed for my correct medication at the correct pharmacy. Since the billing went through, I thought there was no problem.
As a part of my condition, I am not allowed to drive so I called UHC to see if they could help me set up my medication from my current pharmacy to home delivery through Optum Rx. Here comes the fun. Grab your popcorn.
1. Suddenly, my medication was not on file and no record of my medicine or prior billed claims existed despite having two separate billing codes.
2. Once I called my doctor to see if they could put in a new order for the medicine, it took about another week to get it. When my doctor's office called, they said that their system was down, so they couldn't check. When I called the following day, the representative said that their system didn't have an outage. Who was lying? My agent or the one my doctor's office spoke with? Regardless, this is another clear sign of poor management on the part of this company.
3. Once they said they received my prescription, I got an email saying that they put my order on hold and I needed to call them. I called Optum Rx, and despite my physician ordering from the correct place, UHC/ Optum Rx just defaulted to using a policy that I had through them 4 years prior. You would think when I logged in with my account that all the information would be accurate since they are the same company... Apparently not. I spent about 25 minutes or so on the phone with two separate representatives to get this all sorted out.
4. When they sent my medication, they sent it with the same active ingredient as what my physician ordered but called it a completely different medication. When I called the Optum Rx pharmacist, he said it would work the same, but it would be a dissolvable instead of a swallowable. I received 5 bottles of the medication (which normally is 3, perhaps because the manufacturer is different), and the medicine is supposed to be swallowed... What the heck?
5. I was also sent a whole bunch of privacy and paper records. The last page required me to sign and return the material. Not only was this return mailer not prepaid (like every other company I have worked with), the envelope was not suitable for the signed material that would be going back. I don't even understand why I would need to send something through the mail when I am marked as paperless anyway.
In a nutshell: This company obviously has no idea how it operates at a logistics, customer-facing, and/or medical care provider level. Additionally, this issue with my insurance being the previous one doesn't make sense because they verify my insurance information over the phone and through chat before we can even begin. Idiots. Avoid this company like the plague.

UnitedHealthCare SUCKS
If there wad anything below 1 star I would have picked it. This is by far the worst insurance company I have ever done business with. It took them 4 months of attempting to get my policy straight before I kissed them goodbye. Twice they canceled my policy with no prior warning. I am not going to go into detail here because I plan on suing them. Save yourself alot of anguish and get a different company.
