1st I would like to say that the health coverage I have received from United Healthcare has been exceptional… however, the FLEX beni’s have been reduced since I started on the plan in 2024. At 1st they were $271mo, then when I renewed in 2025 they went down to $264 ($7 wasn’t a big deal), but now if I renew for 2026 it will be $229 that is a reduction of $35 less per month!! I think it’s pitiful & sinful that w/ALL the money healthcare companies make they continue to take away from retiree’s that are already struggling & living on fixed incomes that are barely enough to survive. We count on the extra Flex beni’s to help pay for food to put on the table, certain utilities & yet every year they take more away & although we may get a small increase in our SS beni’s, then inflation hits & the costs of food at the grocery stores are outrageous!!! I get a whopping $23 a mo on Food Stamps, maybe that covers enough to pay for 1 meal w/leftovas! My half of the rent is almost $900mo & I only receive $1,687 from SS. I have NO debt, but when you figure in Auto Ins, Gas, Life Ins, Cell Phone & Utilities there is really nothing to put aside to save for an emergency. I was a single mother back in the day… I got very little Child Support, worked my butt off to provide & NEVA struggled back then like I do now. These retirement years are supposed to be the golden years & stress free & wonderful years growing old… but I feel as if I am on my way to an early grave!!! I will most likely NOT be renewing & plan to give this same review online to any platform that is available.
