"Buyer Beware"
"Buyer Beware". I pay $1200/ year. I am not on Medicare Advantage, where some people pay 0. I leave the country for 60 days at a time, twice a year. I asked United Healthcare for two months' worth of medication. After 90 min on the phone, they would follow up the next day. No surprise that call never came. I called a day later (after being on the phone for two hours, even when their system is working) and was told that their policy is to give only one 30-day supply per year. I asked if I could pay for the medication and then submit the invoices to get paid. Their answer was NO: we don't reimburse members for out-of-pocket costs. That means I will be paying out of pocket for three months' worth of medication each year, and United Healthcare will profit from those three months they aren't supplying my medication. It is a scam run by this insurance company. Come October, I will say goodbye to UnitedHealthcare, and I urge anybody looking for Part D to stay away from this insurance company. They are employing Filipinos to do their customer service. They are very sweet people, and I'm sure it's for the purpose of catching us off guard with their sweetness. They apologize for the company, but the policy is the policy, and of course, they are just the messenger. UnitedHealthcare, be alerted that any seniors who are looking for Part D insurance. "Buyer Beware."UnitedHealthcare is actually AARP, which is supposed to be an advocate for seniors. Don't waste your money joining AARP; they are part of the scam. I never write reviews, but I felt I needed to alert seniors looking for Part D insurance. I intend to take this scam to the CA. Insurance Commission and see what they have to say.
