We had a false alarm at night. The person carrying the emergency button accidentally dropped it without noticing. We were unable to respond in time, on the phone call from MG, and the emergency team of two arrived. I met them, explained the situation, and they responded very graciously, leaving with a smile.

I used it on a road trip, and it was comforting to have it along for the ride. I stayed in hotels along the way, and the signal was good.

I was checking in as I do each month.

I just needed to call in to get a replacement lanyard for my mother in law and not only was the representative extremely polite but he was very helpful with getting a replacement shipped out tomorrow. I would highly recommend this product and their services.

We came across Medical Guardian by searching BBB accredited companies that could assist with emergency calls. However, this rating has not been our experience. We requested service for on January 1, 2025. We were informed that the device to press for emergencies would be sent out and we would be charged $39.95 per month. It is now January 18th and it looks like we just now received the device 17 days later. In the interim, we needed emergency assistance while we waited for the device. Therefore, we made other arrangements and contacted Medical Guardian today to send the device back, cancel our monthly payments, and be refunded our $52.45 since we never even got a chance to use the device or service. Unfortunately, their agents Roch in cancellations and Brianna in customer care informed us that we would not be refunded and we would have to pay to ship the device back ourselves. I first spoke with Roch, when he told me this I asked to speak with a supervisor. Instead he purposely did not adhere to my request and transferred me to customer care. Then, Brianna answered who told me that cancellations would have to handle my concern. I then asked her to transfer me to a supervisor but instead, she also purposely did not adhere to my request and transferred me right back to Roch in cancellations. Roch then reiterated what he said in an effort to obviously play games. This is extremely unethical for several reasons: 1. I was never told that the device was non-refundable when we requested service on January 1st. An ethical practice would be to have sales agents inform new customers of this upfront instead of after the device is shipped to trick them into you stealing their money and say it isn't refundable after the fact. 2. Medical Guardians primary customer base are people who are physically disabled due to health issues and age. To have this practice is predatory for disadvantaged people who are more than likely already struggling to pay for health insurance premiums and medications. 3. When a product or service is not used but the payment has been made, that means we are paying for something that we have not used. This is theft and not an ethical practice either. Customers who have not used the device nor used the emergency services should not be paying for a service they were deprived of. Instead, they should have the option to be refunded or at least warned upfront that the device is non-refundable.
