I recently placed my first and last order with Chewy.com. The product I ordered required a vet's prescription and I provided contact information to them. Instead of following up with the vet, they waited a number of days until I made inquiries before making an inquiry of the vet in earnest. Then, after they did follow through and make contact the two-day shipping for which I paid took five days. This is not good service, this is not acceptable service. Because of the problems I had been having they should have expedited my shipment. They chose not to. I cannot recommend Chewy.com.

There are few companies that compare to Chewy.com for customer service. I have used the auto ship service to order my cat's prescription food for about the last two years. The orders always arrived on time and never damaged, and I never had to worry about running out of his food. When our cat passed away, Chewy.com was there for us and showed us what customer service is really all about. They refunded my last order and asked me to donate the food to a local shelter. You have a faithful customer in me.

I signed up for six week interval auto-ship of my new puppy's food in May. It was a good deal at $37.62 net to my door (from a $49.49 "list" price )for 24 lbs of dry, Blue Buffalo Freedom Puppy. Six weeks later, I was charged a net $51.49 for the same thing. This consisted of a $48.99 "list" price + $4.95 shipping and handling - a 2.45 autoship "discount". I was busy at the time and did not notice. Last Saturday, I was charged $51,29 consisting of a "list" price of $53.99 less an autoship discount of 2,70. I went on line this morning (2 days later) and found that Chew's advertised price for the same item is $42.89. I initiated a chat session with Chewy support and got this gibberish: "Our prices are always subject to fluctuate based on market trends and manufacturer requests." Needless to say, I cancelled my subscription.

So we recently adopted a puppy. Never having one before we needed lots of supplies. After much research we figured we would try out ordering online. I found that chewy had good prices for many things so we went with them for a big order. After a flawless experience I decided to go with the autoship option for my Iams puppy smart 15lb bag of dog food which cost us $19 on the first order. After one month we received the first auto ship and was charged $35. Confused I called chewys and spoke to the operator. He seemed friendly enough and said he would help. But when I explained the situation he told me that the food had gone up $11 and they also charged me for shipping. I explained that there is no way the food could be that much because I could pay the same or less at my local expensive pet store, Amazon had it for $19, Walmart has it for $18 or $30 for a bag double the size. Something had to be wrong. Nope! I was explained autoships are subject to price change and even though I see the food on their site for the original $19 he could not refund me the difference. So after telling him that I would not except this and would never use Chewy again, he offered me a 10% coupon. Screw that!!! I will never use them again. I never really write bad reviews online but I felt I had to share this so others may avoid my frustrations.

I had set up prescription dog food to be auto delivered. The day the first order arrived the dog it was intended for had passed away. I called to return it and they were so sympathetic. They refunded my order and cancelled the auto delivery. They let me donate the food to a local vet/shelter instead of dealing with any return hassles. I am most appreciative and will certainly look forward to doing business with them again. Thank you Chewy!

I have ordered from Chewy's once prior to my encounter today, that order came immediately, with everything I ordered. My 4 dogs all loved the bones, and the Halti Harnesses I purchased for my two great danes were excellently priced. Today, I realized my auto shipment was due to ship so I went and tweaked some things prior to sending it out. Well I was on my phone and some how three separate orders were made. My first thought was, "Oh great, now I have to call and go through the hassle of trying to get these other two orders cancelled." Much to my surprise, I called the company, a real human being answered on the second ring, and had already had my account pulled up. Within seconds she was canceling out the last two orders and I was done. I kid you not, that was the fastest customer service phone call I have ever made. She was super polite as well. Love Chewy's excellent prices, great diversity of toys/treats/supplies, and now their excellent customer service! I wish they sold the 4Health Dog Food that I buy for my dogs, I'd never have to shop anywhere else for them again!!

Although I've only ordered from Chewy.com twice, both times I've been astounded at how fast my orders have shipped. The folks at Chewy offer a wide variety of products, including prescription pet foods that you won't find at your neighborhood "big box" pet supply place. Their prices are competitive, and a $49 threshold for free shipping is a pretty low threshold (and much appreciated!) They obviously are all about the customer, since ordering and tracking orders couldn't be easier. So far, I'm quite pleased with Chewy, and have recommended them to many other people. UPDATE: I called to complain to Chewy that FedEx did not deliver my dog food order when they (FedEx) said they would. I told the Chewy customer service rep that i know that isn't Chewy's fault, but that I wanted them to know that FedEx does not deliver when it says it will. The Chewy rep offered to credit me half the cost of my dog food order! I declined, because Chewy has no control over FedEx, but I was astounded that Chewy would make such a kind offer, even though delivery problems are not their fault. The customer service rep said he will let Chewy's management know of the problem with FedEx, and I appreciate that, especially since there have been a couple occasions when FedEx did not honor it's delivery date commitment. I LOVE CHEWY!!

Pet Smart and Petco don't stock enough product locally. I tried ordering on line from both and received more than 60 dented cans out of 96 from both. Ordered from chewy.com and not a can was damaged. Price was right, shipment was quick. I'm hooked on Chewy.
