CHEWY WAS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT
I will share my experience regarding Chewy and let you be the judge, however, my rating stands. I have seen advertisement after advertisement about chewy and how convenient they are because they deliver right to your door. They go in to detail about how convenient they they are by delivering right to your door. . That was appealing to me because I live on the second floor. I decided to try them out when I had surgery. I injured my leg and had a big brace and could not carry anything upstairs for about eight months so groceries and everything was ordered and delivered. I ordered cat litter from chewy and it was not delivered to my door as promised. I had told them that I had an injured leg and to make sure they bring it right up to my door. They assured me they would. By the time I ran out of cat litter I called Chewy and they told me It had been delivered. I called the front office asking if it had been delivered to the office instead of my apartment. And they said yes. They asked hadn’t I been notified because it had been sitting there in the office for over a week. I said no I had not been notified. (What usually happens in my building is when someone delivers something to the office or hub the shipper will send you a text or an email notifying you that your item has been delivered and it gives you a code to pick up your order. This driver didn’t notify me. He just sneaked in the office and didn’t take it up the stairs to my apartment and then he left without notifying me and without giving me a code I called Chewy and told them and they said they were sorry. I asked them to make that driver come back and deliver to my door because of my circumstances with my leg. (The office staff will not deliver a package for a tenant because of liability). It weighed like 25 pounds or some thing. Chewy told me they could not make the drive or come back. Chewy told me they would send another one right out. I said fine but I was now out of cat litter! They said they would rush it over They didn’t. This time I told them to please make sure the driver knows to bring it directly to my door. I told them I had a brace on my leg and I could not bring anything up my stairs. I told them it was on the second floor. I asked if it was a problem they said no. I asked him to make big Asterix on the special delivery instructions to be sure and bring it to my door because I was completely out of cat litter and now I have to wait for it to get there. They assured me everything would be fine this time. It wasn’t. Again after my cat litter didn’t show up I called Chewy. They said it had been delivered. I called the office and sure enough not only was the first one still there but the second one was there too! Unbelievable! I couldn’t believe it! I called Chewy and told them how their driver had once again not delivered it to me and I was pretty darn mad I still didn’t have any cat litter! At this point it was Chewys attitude that was so offensive and made me the maddest. They just couldn’t have cared any less at this point that it had not been delivered to my door. They said they wouldn’t charge me for the cat litter and would take it off my account! (Which of course I already knew because I sure the heck was not going to pay them for the cat litter sitTing down there in the office!) They made some kind of an excuse that they couldn’t control their drivers. But my response to that is if you can’t control your drivers you have no business advertising that you bring it right to the door.. Of course I immediately ordered my cat litter elsewhere. And when I told them my story about chewy they felt sorry for me and had overnight delivery to me at no extra charge to my door no problem! So all of the advertising dollars that Chewy wastes on trying to get customers seems silly when all they really need to do is give good customer service In the first place and get free word-of-mouth advertising. Do I recommend this company? Absolutely not. My humble opinion on my experience with chewy
