I had good experience with chewy until the pandemic hit. Now my packages are always delayed weeks. Their website does not give correct delivery tracking info. I’m never shopping there again. Amazon has the exact same prices and discounts if you subscribe so I’m going there because they are so much more reliable on deliveries.

Chewy helped me to support my local animal shelter. I'm doing a project, and I called and them and they were so nice. They sent us a box of most likely over $100 in items! we are so thankful for everything they have done for us and the shelter!

The customer service was the worst. I placed an order on cyber Monday and was contacted the next day that one of my items needed vet approval- that was my bad. I asked them to simply replace that item with a cheaper item, and then after that my order went from $123 to $147. When I called to explain the situation the lady took 20 minutes to figure it out- and then the call got disconnected. I called again and the women said that the prices are always changing and that’s just the way it is sometimes. They wouldn’t honor the price I locked in the day before on the sale. It really wasn’t that hard of a situation and they were absolutely awful at helping. I sent emails to a generic chewy email for the First Lady to review, and then the second lady said “I’m just an on call so I can’t access those emails”. What does that even mean? I have worked customer service in college and this just seemed absolutely outrageous to me to try to fix such a simple issue.

Fabulous service, delivery and prices. Towers above Amazon which is infamous for inability to deal with a customer service rep.

Their auto-order option determines when they ship the food to you, not when you should expect it to arrive. The food arrives a week late and I have to go to the store to cover the gap; which defeats the purpose of chewy entirely. I've also received entire rows of broken cans of cat food. You have literally one job, chewy.

I wish you can put negative stars, my aunt recently ordered a bag of puppy food for her 11 week old puppy, and opened it to find BLACK BEETLES, MEEL WORMS , AND MAGGOTS. She called customer service and the women said she would give her a refund, and acted like she didn't care they sold her spoiled , old puppy food. She only told her she would put it in the customer reviews. Very bad customer service , and bad product. First time order, and she never will again.

Ext. 3446 the guy name Rick is a Fricken scumbag. Literally told me that he doesn't care what pills my dog gets, and they never sent an email out about being out of stock but yet charged me full price! I will be making a fraud report to my bank.

I generally find Chewy products and the service good, but the company has to change their shipping procedures. I regularly order 40 lbs bags of cat litter and multiple boxes of canned cat food and bags of dry food at the same time. To save time and expense, I assume, Chewy puts all these products together (well over 50 lbs) in a single flimsy, unreinforced box with a single piece of sealing tape on top and another on the bottom of the box. I have yet to receive one of these “heavy” box shipments that is not damaged. Some combination of the poor boxing and FedEx handling brings these behemoths to my door torn apart, and more often than not with damaged products. I keep suggesting to Chewy they break these shipments up, to no avail. I suspect it is cheaper for them to replace an occasional shipment than change shipping procedures. They patiently listen and carry on with no change. Except for convenience I would buy my pet products elsewhere.
