My care team helped me, and now I can help others!
Cerebral Inc.: 3 stars
My care team: 5 stars
Average stars: 4
There were some issues with the stability/consistency of Cerebral with payment, billing, scheduling, medication orders, etc., but my prescriber and therapist were wonderful the entire time. They always worked to help me to the best of their abilities and they made me feel supported.
I found Cerebral in my second semester of nursing school. My ADHD symptoms made navigating school and my everyday life extremely difficult, and on some days, it was impossible. I was so overwhelmed and burnt out that I could barely function. My therapist and prescriber met me where I was at, and they always listened to my needs, thoughts, and opinions. After about 6 months of working together, we finally found a medication that works well for me, and my life started to change for the better. Of course, therapy was an enormous help on many levels, but I started noticing the most active differences once I got on the right medication.
It was still a very rough ride due to the nature of nursing school; but I’m extremely proud to say that I have now graduated from my nursing program in the top 20% of my class! I would not have made it through school without my Cerebral support team. I’m so thankful for the care I received here because it has helped me gain the necessary skills and tools to help others as a nurse.

Don't fall for the ads... Cerebral is terrible
This has been, without a doubt, the absolute worst excuse for a medical provider I have ever encountered.
I started with Circle Medical for an ADHD evaluation. They performed this service and then referred me out to Cerebral. I started on the medication/therapy plan, for which Cerebral claims Anthem and other companies are in-network and they will directly bill your insurance.
First, the billing piece is a LIE. They NEVER submitted a claim to my insurance until I tried to submit the other plan's invoices (which took months to get from Cerebral, because the receipts they give you are not insurance compliant). The claims they did submit did not match the dates or prices on my invoices. Basically, they charged me $139 and told my insurance they'd billed me $2.55. If you do the medication/care counseling plan, they will NOT bill your insurance, or provide invoices you can submit to your insurance unless you hound them about it. And after all that, Anthem, at least, refuses to accept the claims because Cerebral IS in-network but doesn't bill them directly.
Second, I switched off the therapy plan because you're paying for four therapy sessions a month. I got one session in over a month-long period. Cerebral needed to reassign my therapist, I guess, and took a month to do so, and then assigned someone random (originally you get to pick based on their profile/specialties) with no near-term availability.
Third, the actual services are not great. It took seven months to get any adjustment in my medication when the entire purpose of the service was medication management. I had been on the same medications for over a year (starting about eight months before signing up with Cerebral) without progress before I finally got changes in my medication. The prescriber clearly never read my file and would argue with me about strange things, like saying I'd been prescribed a medication for ADHD that I'd been taking for years before ever being diagnosed with ADHD. The care counselor was good, but that was the only positive.
Customer service is not very responsive and definitely not helpful. They'll go back and forth with you for WEEKS in their chat before telling you to email someone specific instead. I couldn't even get them to give me my prescriber's phone number when my OWN DOCTOR requested it because the prescriber told me to ask them to write my prescriptions since she can't (telehealth providers can no longer prescribe controlled substances, like stimulant medications). Instead, they took two weeks to send me my own medical records.
This has been a horrible, horrible experience. I should've been able to easily submit my invoices for reimbursement and I can't get any of them processed because of Cerebral's sketchy billing, which leaves me out over $1,000 I never would have paid if I had known it would go this way. AVOID.
ETA The prompt response to a critical review is admirable, but for the fact that I’ve been in correspondence with them for literal months about all of this. I just spent 30 more minutes on messaging Cerebral and Anthem about the exact same issues. Oh, and I wanted to add that I’ve just discovered that my prescriber was misgendering me (a trans person) in my medical records. The amount of stress this behavioral health service has caused and the amount of time I’ve wasted dealing with them and my insurance to get nowhere… again, avoid.

The app is garbage
The app is garbage. You can't review anything. It doesn't save your information and when you try to put in your real password, the one that you've used 10 times, it doesn't work. Then you can't set up an appointment with your prescriber who is, just a nurse not a doctor, you have to go through basically a gatekeeper. And if you pay for the extra stuff good luck getting it either. If you got no other place to go use this place but be prepared for bad experience. Maybe even your mental health going down trying to deal with these people.

Katelyn and Victoria 👍🏼👍🏼…
Katelyn Sullivan has been a great therapist. I feel some hope. Victoria L has also been very helpful as well Both seem like they enjoy what they do, and that’s important to me. I’m not a finished product, but this is a great start.

It’s the place to go.
I had my first Therapy appointment today with one of the therapists, Jim. He was great. I’ve tried so many therapists before. And never was comfortable with any of them, the way I was with him. He made me feel welcome and unjudged from the moment he introduced himself. Jim actually listened to what I had to say. He gave me some starting points and things to work on until the next time we have a session. He’s not a “so how does that make you feel” kind of therapist. He actually makes it human contact and not like you’re talking to a programmed robot.

Best Decision Ever
I went to therapy once at some office and it was an hour long and I felt like they didn't care. I was going to give up seeking counseling but I figured I'd give it one more shot. I saw an ad somewhere for Cerebral and it displayed a low price for a trial and so I figured why not. The best decision ever. My counselor Shadeia Sheridan in 30 minutes made me feel more than what my hour session with a random therapist my insurance picked. It was amazing how she made me feel seen, heard, and most importantly not alone. I'm forever grateful!

Milcah is amazing
My care counselor is Milcah. She was incredible and my half hour appointment flew by because I got to talking. And she was super helpful and kept it lighthearted when it needed to be. I would love a longer appointment with her, if I’m being honest. I was worried I wouldn’t connect with the first match.
