Gave our dog a new lease on life!
When our dog Coco suddenly lost about 80% use of her back legs due to muscular dystrophy, we started looking into wheelchairs for her. We saw one other by a different brand that we momentarily considered for about $100 cheaper. But after reading reviews, many people noted it started falling apart & they had to do a lot of DIY work to it. So we decided to go with the better made cart…WalkinPets. And I am SO glad we did!! I had NO idea Coco would be so hard on her wheelchair! She LOVED it! We pull out her special harness for it & she loses her mind! 😆 She purposely speeds up when going towards curbs and I usually help pop up her rear-end when going *up* them. There have definitely been times when she’s gone fast enough to make it up curbs by herself! Haha! And she ALWAYS runs down them by herself. Her favorite thing is to do wheelies, where she walks down the length of curbs with one tire on the curb and one on the street. She’s a maniac! We loved that it was easily adjustable to her & the size recommendations on their site was accurate. As hard as she is on it, it has never broke or loosened in any way. And she demands walks twice a day. I wish we had gotten it for her earlier when her back legs were even the slightest bit weak. I also wish I had known about them with my previous dog who had a torn ACL. She would’ve loved it! I cannot say enough good things about WalkinPets! My only feedback to the company would be to recommend footwear or other accessories that disabled dog may need. We wouldn’t have even known what we needed had it not been for her vet. And we went through booties like crazy! Since then, I’ve seen MUCH better shoes that are more like roller skates so their feet don’t drag at all!! WalkinPets should work with these companies so their customers can get what they need.
