I called on5 different occasions because I needed help finding a provider as I am new to having insurance and also am disabled, which I expressed to the representatives. Each time, they gave me incorrect information, once even sending me to a pediatrician. Im 48 years old.... Not only did they seemingly not listen to me or my issue, they seemed like everything they said was scripted and not able to meet specific customer needs. Also, it was extremely difficult to comprehend the thick Indian accent. (I mean no disrespect)
My last interaction was through the chat option, and I was still given wrong information even after expressing that the exact thing she told me was incorrect....the provider she sent me to didn't even exist at the location she sent me to.

My mom had her Medicare supplemental…
My mom had her Medicare supplemental insurance through UHC. They auto deducted $292.50/mth from her bank account. Mom passed away 2 months ago. We called within 2 days to let UHC know. We were told it was too late to stop the next auto pay but that they would reverse the pmt within 10-14 days. Did NOT happen. Called again 3 weeks later. Given the same story. Still has NOT happened. This is a very unscrupulous company. Stay away from them. I should be grieving the loss of my mom and NOT fighting with this company.

Don't cover needed surgery
When I poop, the toilet is filled with blood. A colonoscopy (which was covered by United Healthcare) revealed polys which need to be removed. United Healthcare is denying coverage of the surgery to remove the polys.

UnitedHealthcare is the worst!
UnitedHealthcare is the worst. They screwed up my first referral with the wrong condition and lost the second one (never arrived). I cannot find any record of my last doctor visit but they still want me to pay for it!

UHC is horrible in approving life saving procedures
My spouse, after seeing his PCP and additional testing ordered by him, was then referred to a cardiologist. He was told by the cardiologist he needed a heart cath because of an extremely high result on his calcium heart test. Procedure scheduled, UHC denied, saying after their review, there was not enough "proof" he needed this. After two doctors, one being a cardiologist, saying he needed this, they were the "experts" and making a decision for his heart health. They required another test to show "more proof" which was scheduled, and he did. Of course, it showed abnormalities, and the doctor rescheduled the heart cath. This took an additional month because of the insurance issue. So, they paid more money for an additional test that they didn't need to do. The day before his new appointment for the heart cath, we received an insurance approval letter for it. My husband ended up having an 80% blockage and two stents had to be placed. He then had to be kept overnight for observation because of some chest pain. Fortunately, we fought, and he has a doctor that fought to get the procedure approved. I am furious they denied him having this done the first time and the thought of what could've happened to him during the wait time. I wonder how many people experience major health issues or worse, over an insurance company and their so-called "experts" that are incompetent to making decisions for our health. UHC was a provider for my company for years, I never experienced an issue during that time, but something has changed, and I've read multiple complaints about this same issue. My company switched providers last year, which I am thankful after seeing what my husband has dealt with these recent months. It is terrible companies are paying these high rates for insurance that will try everything not to cover the insured.

My experience with uhc is not good
My experience with uhc is not good. I had there dual comple choice pro which I was very happy with, then somehow I got signed up for an hmo and when I called to cancel the hmo they canceled my ppo plan too. So now when I called they were supposed to have signed me up for a different plan due to my medicad. Its supposed to be effective starting 10/1/23 I log on and it says I have no coverage they need to learn to do their job correctly and listen better to what the member is saying to them.

Inappropriate personal examples
I wanted to give feedback on the presentation that was given at Golden Corral in Orem, Utah on September 27th at 3:30 pm.
I felt that the presentation that the first man gave was inappropriate about how he explained how he gets himself to be calm. I guess he thought it was cute but it was disgusting to me about his experience when a little boy in school. If you are going to give a presentation, you should be professional about it. I understand giving personal stories, but it was very uncalled for.
Also, when one of the other lady agents was at our table and explaining how insurances aren't able to give information about what is going on the following year. My insurance and my friends insurance sends updates and she tried to tell us that is only to preview.
I didn't like how these agents talked to us.
They were making the information complicated and it's only because another person there explained his own experience with a detail that I understood what they meant.

They say one thing and do another. Totally corrupt.
My mother and I are both on the UHC Community Plan for Medicaid. She recently had to have a brain scan done to which the hospital confirmed the insurance was going to cover. Fast forward two months later and she gets a bill in the mail saying the insurance denied it. Of course she's low income and cannot afford to pay this bill so now she's going to have to call them and likely appeal it but if they deny it after the appeal it's just going to have to go to collections because she can't pay it which of course is going to hurt her credit history that she has worked so tirelessly to build back up . If they are not going to cover and approve something they need to notify the patient so other arrangements can be made and to say it would be covered then deny it is criminal. This used to be one of the most reliable Medicaid providers out there but that's no longer the case anymore. I do not recommend this company. They play with peoples lives!
