The online site has so many issues that Talkiatry's response since at least December of last year has been offering the excuse: ""We are changing internal systems." It hasn't changed but does need to change the system because, among other reasons, it does not permit updates of pharma info--instead triggering unasked for scripts--, does not have meaningful chat, spits out invoices where none is warranted. The time wasted @ website encourages a shift awat from Talkiatry

I saw one therapist there. I did not need to see another one or continue so I tried to close my account.
IMPOSSIBLE. There is no way to do it and so they keep spamming you for another visit. I have tried calling, chatting, texting and emailing. I get verbal apologies but they keep contacting me over and over. SPAM< SPAM and the eternal SPAM. I cannot tell you what to do but unless you like constant non stop spam well, you know what not to do. Good luck, signed: Sorry I ever contacted them.
Response to your response:
After all you have put me through you think that a standard, probably AI generated response is going to smooth things over? Think again. You guys are unrelenting in the past, as described, and so too shall I be.

If I could give them 0 stars
If I could give them 0 stars or negative stars, I would.
I called three times. First, I asked to speak with a supervisor, and stated that I just didn't think we were communicating well, and no fault of their own, I just wanted to speak to a level up. Well, that's where my experience went to Hell in a dang hand basket. Bows and all.
I was transfered to a supervisor voicemail that (...wait for it...) DIDN'T EXIST.
So naturally, being the bull headed individual that I am, I called back. I immediately asked for a supervisor, so I could tell them about this atrocious act of customer service. Where I was then told that "all supervisors were in a meeting." After pushing, I was then told that if they could not verify that I was a patient that they couldn't help me contact a supervisor, manager, director, or really anyone other than their front line service reps. Then, I was hung up upon.
Well, let me tell you, after 20+ years in customer service, hanging up on an angry customer is not a good option. It tends to just stoke the fire, not out it out.
So, what does this very stubborn pitbull do? I called back again. They asked for my info, which I no longer felt comfortable giving. So I gave a fake name/dob. Well, obviously they didn't find me as a current patient (which I told them I wasn't yet a patient). I was told "since we can't very you are a patient, I cannot transfer you to a supervisor."
As this is the third time this happened, and all I wanted to do was offer some training advice on how to deal with an angry customer (I again have done it for over 20 years myself). Simply put, DON'T HANG UP ON A CLIENT (unless they are cussing/yelling at you - then it's acceptable). At no time did I cuss or yell or say anything negative until I got to the third person who refused to help and a lightbulb went off.
If they are claiming to be a mental health psychiatry option, and they are willing to fail to establish trust, anger customers, and refuse to speak with potential new clients, could this be a scam?! They thing is, when I asked this out loud on the phone, THEY DIDN'T DENY IT!
So, my conclusion is that I do not trust this company, do not believe they want to grow or better themselves, and cannot in any good conscience recommend ANYONE (even my worst enemy) utilize this company for any kind of mental health benefits.
Hope this helps you in your psychiatry journey, b/c it was sure a waist of my time.

Don’t waste your time
Virtual consultation for more than an hour for medication management. Waste of time. Complete waste of time. If you’re looking to get better don’t come here.

Everything is great until your provider…
Everything is great until your provider retires or leaves . Landing a new provider is horrible . I have yet to successfully land a viable appointment after two calls . I’m furious actually

Excellent Care for Years, with Some App Quirks - Still 5 Stars
I've used Talkiatry for years now, started in May of 2022, for both therapy and psychiatric treatment. My very first intake happened after a steep decline in my mental state. I initially sought treatment for a condition I felt confident I’d had my entire life. While I wasn’t necessarily wrong, in my first consultation with my now long-time psychiatrist, Dr. Jonathan Hertz, he noted other signs and symptoms that pointed to an additional diagnosis I’d never considered or remotely associated with myself. He hit the nail on the head and began a treatment plan with that comorbidity in mind. For three years now, he has been amazingly supportive, and I’ve settled on a steady plan that has helped me stabilize. I was always especially hesitant about considering psychiatric medication but chose Talkiatry because I genuinely felt out of options and in desperate need of change.
I intend on going back to therapy through this service. For a long while, I was under the care of Jill Collum, who was exceedingly kind and caring. Due to life stressors, I briefly stepped away from therapy, but my provider really cared, and I realize that support is an important supplemental piece to my medication plan.
They accept my insurance plan, and I’ve had minimal issues on that front. The one time I experienced problems was more related to my insurance plan changing and me forgetting to update Talkiatry in reasonable time. A few emails to the support team resolved that matter quickly.
Now, for the quirks – mostly related to the app. While it generally functions well, a few UI features are plainly bad. Specifically, upon sign-up or when updating insurance, the plan selection page has a mind-numbingly unintuitive list of hundreds of unique plan names. These often don’t match what your insurance plan is called on your personal health insurance portal. They really should implement a simple search/filter feature or an option to skip that list and upload insurance info directly for their team to determine eligibility.
The billing side of the app is also unclear. I would really appreciate a way to see all invoices on the same payment page. As of right now, I have to manually check each email received from Talkiatry and can seemingly only pay invoices one at a time, which is the only reason I’ve ever missed patient responsibility payments.
As far as technical issues with the service itself, I actually can’t recall any as of late. The video calls seem to work well, though I know in the distant past there seemed to be more connection issues, possibly on the provider end.
The only times I run into concerns are related to making sure my prescription gets sent. To be fair, I haven’t really had major issues here. However, if, for example, my provider was out of office for a week that fell within my refill window, it required some back-and-forth with the support team and waiting for an answer. Eventually, these things got handled before I ran into medication access issues, but they were a bit stressful at the time, especially since some medications are crucial to take consistently. It was a mixed bag of accessibility and clear communication in those instances.
Ultimately, my advice is: give them time, be patient, and try your best to be responsible. I think a lot of patients might have overblown expectations of their provider team, who are all only people themselves. There’s responsibility on both ends to sustain proper care, especially for mental health treatment. Sometimes things can falter, but if you as the patient can reliably sustain your end and be compliant, then it becomes easier to confidently advocate if you’re dealing with an issue that is out of your hands. So yeah, Talkiatry has been a vital part of my well-being.
*Also I’d like to edit to clarify that I think one of the bigger issues that other people experience, which seems related to payment and insurance: I’m lucky and biased in the sense that I have had stable access to good healthcare plans, and have not had financial struggles. I’ve mistakenly no-showed before and had to pay their fees before, but I am genuinely aware that the no-show fee or out-of-pocket costs are not rates that many people can comfortably afford, I don’t take that for granted but please know that due to my own inconsistency in the past, I have on multiple occasions paid the $100+ fee for no shows.

Run, don't walk, from this overpriced service.
They were overcharging to the extent that my insurance was barely covering half of their fees. But I didn't realize how high my bill was getting until it was out of control. Now I owe them hundreds of dollars.
After I was laid off, I had one appointment without insurance and it was over $300 for the 35-minute appointment. When they were billing my insurance, they were billing $600 per hour. I had been using them for at least 2 years but I never will again.
I haven't booked an appointment since the last one that I had to pay out of pocket and they've been calling and emailing me non-stop to try to get me to book another appointment. But, when they call, they don't say where they're calling from or what they're calling about. I had to look up the number to see who it was that was calling.
My psychiatrist is amazing, but the platform is the absolute worst.
