In concept the service is great and very convenient for those who struggle to break away from life for a trip to the doc's office for an appointment. The quality of my doctor was very good, and he has always been on time to my appointments. I was able to get everything I needed from him and have had at least 6 successful appointments in the last 3 months. Where things go south for Talkiatry is on the billing side. They bill you for services (codes) that they never actually perform, so I am being billed for psychiatry (med mgmt) services and on top of that, psychotherapy services (not legit). My normal follow-up appointments are 20-30 minutes long and there is no way you can do both of those services in that amount of time. The cost is high as well. A med mgmt follow-up visit without psychotherapy costs me just over $200 (w/ insurance discount). When you add in the fraudulent psychotherapy billing, that adds another $100+ to your bill. I was getting local med mgmt services for $125, so I may be going back to that if they don't straighten out there billing practices. I have filed complaints with their billing department and will be filling a compliant with my insurance company next. Be forewarned about their billing practices and insist that your doctor only performs the services you are there for.

Very convenient and accepted my insurance. Have had scheduling issues though that appear to be on the talkiatry service side not handing psychiatrist schedules correctly leading to me going to an appointment and waiting just for no one to show up.

Talkiatry is a great concept when your psychiatrist isn't habitually 15 minutes late to your appointment. It's also impossible to afford mental health treatment without insurance so that's a huge down side. I would not recommend.

Takes 3 times to cancel appointment!!! My experience with the doctor was about normal, she seemed good. I unfortunately decided to go with a different doctor and cancelled the appointment about 1.5 weeks in advance. Then, I received a reminder of my appointment about 1 week before my appointment. I went in and cancelled my appointment, again went to the page that said it was cancelled but still was listed under upcoming visits. I then cancelled a third time and this time it disappeared from my upcoming visits and about 5 minutes later I received a text about the cancellation. Please screenshot the cancellation page always!! They charge 100.00 if not cancelled within 48 hours but yet you have to cancel 3 times!!!

I had to switch insurance and no longer in network for Talkiatry. So not happy after seeing my psychiatrist and therapist for 2 years

The physician is great however those care coordinators are the worse and need to be replaced to people who can understand and comprehend. They are horrible! Terrbile

Don't like the logging on it is so stressful. It takes forever!

While the convenience is nice and my doctor has been great, most of the information talks about the low prices you can get with insurance, including as low as $25. The hard part is actually figuring out how much you're going to owe and getting hit with a $500 bill for one visit.
