Beware of auto-payments or auto-charges, hidden, and hard to cancel your account or take off your credit card from its system

Full disclosure: this is not a complaint about my provider. This has everything to do with rula itself. I cancelled family events that I had planned to attend my first session only to be told by customer service my appointment was cancelled with ZERO notification. This is not the first issue I've had with rula, formerly known as path. I was also not charged for 8 (!) straight appointments even though the money was there AND I had previously updated my card information THREE SEPARATE TIMES. Upon confirming my information once again, they processed all 8 payments at once leaving me without rent money. I immediately ended my relationship with them over this. And now having my appointment cancelled again, I have decided to leave this review. I need the help but I don't need this headache that comes with dealing with rula.

During my appointment, the therapist I was assigned got to the issues and I received some good feedback to apply to get started.

I am just beginning my therapy journey with Rula. My therapist did not show up on Zoom and I am being charged. I have called and emailed their customer support team. They are very slow to address concerns.

Honestly, I felt heard and comfortable. I felt comfortable to just be me and it’s okay to say what I’m feeling out loud! She made me feel like my feelings are valid and it’s okay feel this way. When I just needed a friend, she step up.

It was easy for me to navigate. I just love my therapist Dale she is just what I was looking for!

It was so easy to get signed up with Rula, set up my insurance, and find a therapist who met my preferences with a same-week appointment! In the past, I've had to wait months to find a therapist with availability who didn't even meet my preferences (e.g., cultural similarity/understanding, gender, etc.). My only criticism is the multistep process for logging in via email and verification each time I want to check messages from my provider or billing info. An app would make it much more accessible. I still give Rula 5 stars because I was able to find the perfect individual and couples therapist in my first try. Each therapist has a thorough bio, you can apply filters to your search, and go through a list of therapists to choose from. Therapists are human too so compatibility is important. I like that I didn't have to go through numerous therapists to find one who I felt I can work with. I have also heard that other competing sites like Rula don't use the most ethical practices - I've known of therapists being added to the BetterHelp list of therapists without their approval AND when they weren't accepting new clients. From my experience, Rula is so involved as the "middle-man" in all transactions between the therapist and the client, that I wouldn't imagine such unethical practices being possible. I would and have recommended Rula to those seeking therapy or a new therapist. :)
