I want to tell you my nightmare with a partner of RentalCars and how RentalCars literally abandoned me after many years of booking through them. I booked a car and I went to collect it. I waited at the collection desk of the car rental company for quite a while and after that this company partner of RentalCars told me they could not give me the car I had booked and paid for because I was blacklisted from them!!!! I have called rentalcars and a chap called Paul with a scottish or irish accent responding to me from Barcelona couldn't care less. I have been abandoned. I felt impotent and on my own on a Saturday afternoon during bank holiday weekend. My business partner miles away was awaiting for me to close an important contract with my small company. I have lost the contract and my reputation because of RentalCars and its partner. I have raised a complaint (Rentalcars.com Ref 716733885) with both companies and the response from car rental has been literally like adding an insult to injury. After several years of booking with Car Rental they couldn't care less of me. This is how this company treats his customers. From then, I only book directly with the provider no more with such leeches.

They changed the quoted base price of the car by over $100 during the course of the transaction. No recourse through their customer service channel who have no delegated authority to resolve customer issues and no pathway to escalate. Ripped off. Hopeless.

This began on 8th August where a reservation was made and when going to pick up the car, the hire company was closed and unreachable. Speaking to RentalCars they said they too were unable to reach the hire company and that they have contacted but must wait up to 28 days for them to respond to confirm the car was never picked up. During that time, I tried to call the hire company and still no answer on email or telephone, speaking to RentalCars they said again the the policy is 28 days until this that be escalated to customer service team. Alas 28 days past, customer service would now supposedly get involved and carry out investigation. Couple weeks pass and still nothing, and I am told that someone from customer service will call me back. Another 28 days past and customer service should have gotten back to me and having not done so I contacted my bank to reverse the charge. Surprise surprise, someone from customer services actually then contacts me and asks me to stop the bank investigation, replying to Michelle's message to call me back, being told that they are still waiting for a response from the hire company (that clearly has gone into administration / does not exist anymore) 3 months they think is reasonable for customers to wait for a refund is beyond me. My bank has pushed forward with the reversal and chargeback and 3 months later I get a cancellation email. No other communication, nothing from the "Customer Service Department" Total joke and embarrassment. There was no dispute, there was no car accident, a simple service not provided/available and the absolute refusal to give a timely refund is why I shall never recommend or use RentalCars again in the future

Hold dig langt væk fra dette svindler firma, de charger dig bare i øst og vest uden hæmninger..... og gør din klagemulighed så besværlig og langtrukket, og om du så bare bliver ved, holder de bare op med at svare..... STAY AWAY FROM THIS FIRM

basic waste of money. they can not help with anything. all questions about insurance they will not answer and the local rental companies require extra insurance. book only with those present at the airport.

This was my first time using this website for a car rental and it would be my last. I've never experienced such a horrible service until today. I called them after I left from the pick up place for my rental because beside the money I had already paid they were trying to add another $900. On the booking website the deposit or any other charges were shown. The deposit is understandable, but there was no explanation for the rest of the money they were charging us. I called them spoke to a representative and they told me that since I had already left the place without a car they were not able to help me or return my money. I wouldnt have mind taking the car if they would've explained to me the charges added, but no one had an explanation so I left with no car and according to the representative I can't get my money back. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Booked car for 3 days from Rentalcars.com to pick up from Hertz Southampton Airport branch, should pick the car at 10:00am, but no one was there when I arrived. The Hertz officer has arrived half a hour late. And she has just focused on refuse to release the car. Despite I have provided all needed documents what mentioned in rentalcars.com booking confirmation, she asked adress proof as an extra. I have provided bank statement and driving license for adress proof as well , but she did not accept. She has asked bills. At the end, I lost whole my program, waste my time, and even they did not refund my money back. They are like swindler. Like have no enough car in the fleet, just do tricks. Even no one supported from rentalcars.com customer services regarding to the case despite called a long time. At the end I have reached to some rentalcars number, they said that no have any authority for them. Rentalcars and HERTZ are completely swindler and unprofessional companies !

Very misleading T&Cs led to Rentalcars.com taking our booking money and us receiving no car. There was no notification that the car must be collected at the exact time and that if we were delayed, they would cancel the booking. The vendor advised that if you book direct then in a situation like this the credit could be applied to a new booking, so much better to go direct rather than through rentalcars.com.
