Should have read the reviews before booking three cars through rentalcars.com When arriving at Split airport Keddy/Europcar refused to give us one of our cars. They argued that the third driver's payment card was not a credit card which it 100% is. So Europcar straight up cancelled our car on the spot. So we were left with two cars for 12 people... Rentalcars have refunded us for 1.500 out of 2.500 SEK. But i still think we should get a full refund, but rentalcars.com refuses. So now they have earned about 100 EUR without giving us anything. Overall i am happy with the help i had gotten up until this issue. Got fast and good help during the booking of the cars. Will not book through rentalcars.com again, neither Keddy/Europcar at Split airport.

Booked and paid in advance for the car rental and full insurance protection (0 excess reduction), etc.... arriving at the rental desk (SurPrice Heathrow), the agent recommended that I purchase insurance, which I did. Obviously my fault for failing to remember that I had already bought insurance but the point is RentalCars.com is a service aggregator which means they have minimal communications with (and even less control over) the actual company renting the car to you. In my case, the agent at the desk might not have known insurance was already purchased (especially if their systems are not fully integrated with RentalCars.com). In any case, agents are trained to sell extras such as insurance. Bottom line: the platform is suitable for finding availability and good deals but make sure to cover all the details!

Until I had an incident with one of the rental cars I booked through Rentacars.com the service seemed to work fine. I took out their Full Protection Insurance, which says "Full Protection Insurance is designed to refund You any amount You are charged under Your Car Rental Agreement for the loss of / damage to the Rental Vehicle, so long as You have paid the premium and have complied with the policy terms." unfortunately, and to date, this is not true. I was left without a hire car for the last 3 days of the agreement, then charged for the alleged repair of a punctured tyre, because the car was hired to me without a spare wheel or a puncture repair kit. And some weeks later I find myself fighting with Rentalcars.com to get any kind of resolve, they tried to fob me off with a response that read "The only thing that I can do is offer you a discount on a future rental. In order to redeem this discount, you simply need to quote this reference number ???????? when making a new booking, via either email or by phone. We hope that this has resolved the issue positively for you, and we look forward to hearing from you in the future to redeem your discount." then proceeded to say "If you want to leave a feedback to the car hire company you can do it trough this link, which was trustpilot.com" so here is my feedback. please be wary when booking through these providers, and check the hire vehicle thoroughly before taking it offsite!?

Looking at the reviews I seem to have got off lightly I took all my documents to europecar the only thing I did not have was the code that you can get off the dvla website or you can get it at the car hire desk it could involve a small charge or so rental cars.com told me when I booked but you actually need your national insurance number now this was never mentioned but I had to go home and get the number costing about £28 round trip and I can’t ring anybody how many times does this happen if they had only mentioned it

Booked a Suzuki Swift from Rijeka Airport through Rentalcars.com. The positive experience was that the webpage was friendly, and the booking was easy. The negative part of my experience began when I picked up the car. Rentalcars had furnished me with a voucher to the company addCar (for which I have written a separate review). In chronological order the negatives were: (A) the office was unattended when I arrived; (B) I had to sign a rental agreement different from the conditions mentioned in Rentalcars' webpage; (C) the safe-deposit was Euro 1000 (should only be 300 according to Rentalcars); (D) there was a special fee, about 40 Euro, because my route involved a ferry; (E) some of the important documents were only in Croatian; (F) when returning the car I was invoiced for a scratch that I know that I could not have caused (but I can perhaps blame myself for not being thorough when inspecting the car at pick-up; it was underneath a bumper and not visible from an upright position); (G) the safe deposit has not yet (August 10) been released although the damage was invoiced and paid for when the car was turned in by July 27. A broker should protect its customers from “surprises.” Rentalcars did not fulfil that in my case. I see no reason why documents to become signed cannot be sent verbatim to the customer in advance. Once a customer shows up at a rental company with a voucher that likely would not become refunded in case the deal was to be aborted owing to disagreement about conditions, said customer is in a poor bargaining position. Also, an airport is not the best place to read thoroughly through a contract that you have not seen previously but are requested to sign. Several of the large and well-known rental companies have offices in Rijeka Airport. Considering my experience, I regret I did not contact one of these directly (no need for a broker). As for the alleged damage, I cannot rule out that addCar may have been in good faith. On the other hand, when looking at other reviews in Trustpilot, damages that only are visible when inspecting from a sitting or lying-down position seem to be a way of extra income for some companies. Thus, I suggest that a broker company like Rentalcars should monitor the number of reported such cases (via own customer satisfaction reviews or via Trustpilot) and discontinue cooperating with companies that have unusually many. Details: Rentalcars´ booking reference # 726641833. July 22 through July 27, 2021, Rijeka Airport, Croatia.

- The final cost is not guaranteed - Not responsible for companies directly providing cars - No full refund policy - Refund is not possible if more than three days have passed since the start of the rental My story is brief: when I flew on vacation to a new country (Mexica), I tried to rent a car from Europcar. I paid the rent in advance at RentalCars.com, where I thought I paid the final rental price. And on the spot, it turned out that I not only had to pay a deposit (which, of course, was natural and I expected this) but also pay the obligatory car insurance, which exceeded the cost of renting a car by 10 (!) times. I did not know about it, and if I did, I would not commit to the rent in the first place. So after a natural refusal, the Europcar employee began to "bargain" with me and the final cost of the above compulsory insurance was just twice the paid rental price. Which, in general, is essentially extortion. Since I found myself in a new place for myself, it took me some time to return to this problem. I contacted RentalCars.com support, but each time my direct participation was required. Unfortunately, I didn't have time for this. And three days later, when I got the time to deal with all of this, it turned out that nothing could be done, since (according to the operator of the support service of RentalCars) three days had already passed since the start of the lease. I didn't even see the car. I think this is extortion and a scam. I do not recommend it.
