Paid for the car. Arrived at rental office on time and manager informed me that my car was not available. I could only get a smaller car but I will have to pay to them directly and reimburse money back from RentalCars. I could not get money back.

Rentalcars.com are a scam beware ... I was 1hr late as BA flight London to Milan was late and they cancelled my booking and left me stranded late at night in Milan...and refused to give me a refund. In short, stay away from this scam. I had paid for the car if late (due to BA) its my car I paid for it. So they made double from this scam and maybe there was no car anyway. Beware. Worst customer experience ever, and I’m an old fart! It took about a dozen calls to realize that the customer help line is completely systematically broken. In fact the German number even tells you up front that it has been shut down indefinitely before cynically moving on to offer various numbered options. If you opt for an English operator, you’re again led through various options before being told that you’ve called outside operating hours. Spoiler alert: you get this message even during operating hours! The only hope is the chat function. The people are very nice and apologetic and so forth, but this company owes me a four figure sum for a claim they approved. I just want to see those numbers on my account balance. I can’t put all of the „excuse me sirs“ and „I understand your frustrations“ in the bank. I just want my money. Never again booking.com never again rentalcars.com. Stay away from these companies if you know what’s good for you. Update: I did actually get my money on the date they said they’d transferred it, so no problem there. The real problem is with the customer service system. It should not have taken dozens of phone calls and two weeks to get this sorted out. My advice to users of the service is: don’t bother trying to get help over the phone. Go straight to the chat function. My advice to the company: if you want a telephone help line, make sure it’s up and running during the hours advertised. Otherwise, just eliminate it entirely. It not only adds zero value, it just pisses off your customers.

I do not recommend using this service. I rented a car and my deposit has not been returned for the fourth month (€230), I contacted customer support, they corresponded for a very long time, asked for additional documents, I sent everything, in the end they said: we can't help. it's just terrible, so much of my time was taken and with zero results

Le système rental car marche bien sauf qu'ils travaillent avec des partenaires qui ne sont pas fiables, même pire volent leur client sans aucune réaction de rental car. Je suis extrêmement déçu de la gestion de mon dossier et je ne recommande pas rental car au contraire. c'est terminé. Ni rental car ni YES car, j'ai perdu 300 euros alors que la location était de 20.79 euros

Hold Jer langt væk fra dette svindelfortagende. Vi lejede bil på nettet og havde hjemmefra købt ekstra forsikring så vi ikke havde nogen selvrisiko. Alligevel blev vi trukket 5000 ,- kr for en ridse på en fordør. Vi skrev flere klagemails til dem uden at der skete noget. Så satte vi FDM ind i sagen, og de har prøvet i over 1/2 år at få vores penge retur uden held. Der kommer hele tiden en ny medarbejder på - udelukkende kun for forhale tiden. Firmaet er engelsk og forsikringsselskabet er Maltesisk og vi lejede bilen i Frankrig.

Horrible experience. I had an issue with the rental (they didn't accept payment with phone and this wasn't clearly indicated in the info sent by the car company). The car company confirmed that they were cancelling the booking without charge, but RentalCars kept the ampunt paid for themselves. So it would have been much better to rent without having rentalCars as intermediary. RentalCars that's a great way of retaining customers!

Ich hab das Auto nicht erhalten. Obwohl ich online gebucht und bezahlt hatte, die Kreditkarte bereits mit der Kaution in Höhe von 1.300,00 Euro autorisiert wurde erhielt ich keinen Wagen. Der Grund dafür, um den Wagen zu erhalten müssten erneut per Kreditkarte 85,00€ geblockt werden. Hierfür wird aber der Kreditkarten pin benötigt. Ich kenne diesen nicht da ich ihn noch nie benötigte. Der Mitarbeiter am Schalter sagte mir das keine anderen Zahlungsmoglichkeiten akzeptiert würden und ich mich an rentalcars bezüglich einer R7ckbuchung auseinandersetzen solle. Ich habe daraufhin mit 3 verschiedenen Mitarbeitern telefoniert 2mal wurde ich aus der Leitung geworfen und beim 3ten mal als ich ausführlicher betreut wurde, wurde nicht wirklich versucht mir zu helfen. Ich habe meine Situation geschildert worauf ich mehrfach gefragt wurde ob ich niemanden in Portugal kennen würde der seine Kreditkarte für mich hinterlegt was völlig absurd ist wenn man in ein fremdes Land in den Urlaub fährt. Ich wurde anschließend fast 20 Minuten in die Warteschleife gelegt. Danach wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass man nichts tun könne weil es in den portugiesischen Bestimmungen der Autovermietung stünde das man mit Kreditkarte bezahlen müsse. Auf der deutschen homepage steht dies nirgends. Man wird auch nicht darauf hingewiesen außer das man sie vorzeigen muss. Da die Autorisierung auch im Hotel ohne pin funktioniert hatte ich mir diesbezüglich keine Gedanken gemacht. Es wurden 1300 autorisiert und wegen 85,00€ bekomme ich kein Auto obwohl alles vorhanden ist. Trotzdem soll der komplette Mietbetrag bezahlt werden ohne das eine Leistung erfolgt. Nichteinmal eine Gutschrift wurde mir angeboten. Ich habe mit meinem Rechtsschutz bereits telefoniert und werde dagegen vorgehen.
