I’m alive and here for my family because of this app
I’m sad others have had difficulty cancelling after the free trial ended but can’t speak to that as I definitely wanted to keep the subscription going. I’ve only had good experiences with tech support who have fixed issues for me when I’ve had them (only a couple of times in 11 months). I was at a ‘do or die’ point in my life. I searched for an app to help me keep track of how much I had been drinking so I could safely cut back and found an app that gave me so much more. Withdrawal symptoms were hard and scary but Reframe gave me information, support & reassurance. With Reframe there is no judgement about where we are at in our life, just a huge variety of tools and resources and the best thing (which I never thought I would do because of guilt and shame and a crippling social anxiety) is that it has given me access to a community of other people who hold one another up. I can chose to do this or not, it fits in to my pocket and it slots in to any spare moment I have in my day. If the timing works, I listen in or participate in a zoom meeting hosted by a highly qualified coach (there are multiple meetings every day) with camera off or on, using a pseudonym or real name. I’ve even now used the chat function and spoken in meetings which was a huge deal for me. I can post and reply in the forum. Within months I was chatting in a small chat group of people with very similar experiences to me and we keep in touch. AA wasn’t for me. With Reframe I don’t have to go to in person meetings with people on a very particular path. I have access to articles, podcasts, courses, all on the basic subscription - I can chose to pay extra for 1:1 coaching but I haven’t done that, other reframers say it has been very useful. In just 11 months I have gone from hell to hope, my liver has recovered (WOW) at time of writing this review I have saved $4k by not buying alcohol and lost 15kg. My kids have a mum again. They are so proud of me and the best thing ever is feeling their hugs and love. Alcohol ruined my life. Reframe gave my life back to me. My favourite quote I heard through a reframer when I was on the fence about fighting alcohol use: “The work is hard, staying drunk is hard. Chose your hard.” Thanks Reframe, you're making the hard so much easier.
