Here is my feedback. I’ve had my laser now for several months now. I still have yet to be able to align my mirrors. This is one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever had to endure. I’d only recommend if you are very in tune with these types of products. I don’t even know where to go from here. I have spent around 5,000.00 on getting this to work correctly and nothing. VERY FRUSTRATED

Awesome technology for the money
Laser appears to be pretty robust. Manuals are pretty rubbish though and the water pump died on the first day. Why then 4 stars? Because for the money it is an awesome bit of technology!

Hey Eugene, we appreciate your honest feedback! We are sorry to hear about the Manuals and your water pump dying on the first day. We hope the water pump got replaced and you are good to go with that. As for the manuals, we have taken good note of this and will try to make the proper adjustments for a new approved manual for our products. Thank you.

Love my OMTech MF2028-100
Delivery was uneventful and the laser arrived in perfect condition. It worked wonderful right out of the box. Aligning the mirrors and leveling the bed took some time but really improved the cuts.
My wife and I make signs and decor items that we sell and having our laser has really expanded the items we can make but has significantly increases our production rate.

poorly assembled
Received the machine in May, it is September now, and I am still not ready to use it. Part of the reason is I needed to run USB booster and ethernet cables, a dedicated 120V circuit and a booster vent system. The issue I am having now is setting up the laser. There are 2 Y-axis gantries. They were not parallel. I needed to shim the rear of the left gantry frame 1/8" (3mm). The mirror locations were so far off that you could not align them. The mirrors mounts had to be moved quite a distance before they could start to be aligned. The laser tube mount has no vertical adjustments. I had to make shims to raise the laser tube 3/8"(9 mm). The bed needs to be in a parallel plane to the movement of the lens head. My bed is not in a parallel plane. Now that I have the X & Y-axis gantries perfectly level I need to adjust the bed to raise and lower perfectly level. This takes a very special spanner wrench. I think I may need to make this wrench. I now view this as a laser kit that was poorly assembled for shipping. I have to check every part for accuracy of installation, realign everything and probably calibrate everything. I hope the electronics is okay since I can only manage the mechanical part.

I received an email wanting to hear of…
I received an email wanting to hear of my experience with OMTech laser. You asked, here it is.
Waste of time & money. I bought a 50W 20x12 laser last January 2021. I have yet to use the machine. I’ve had many conversations with OMTech laser customer & tech support both in the US & foreign offices. So many over 10 weeks (Jan-Mar. 2021) I finally gave up. I received minimal service.
1st issue was laser alignment out of crate. My laser had fixed mounts, not the adjustable type as described in owners manual. I had to remove & shim mirrors (parts bought at my expense) to align laser. Laser advertised a RuiDa DSP controller, the laser shipped to me had Ryxon KT332N controller. A cheaper knock off. Bait & switch??? I had issues with passcode. The keyboard was locked out, X/Y gantry would lock in start location, machine would not operate. I had several communications with tech support, well documented, got no resolution. It seems tech support did not know their own passcodes. I finally got a response that some functions were locked out to keep owners from “messing with them, so Tech support would not have to address answering questions.” Go figure, it’s my machine, I paid for it, why shouldn’t I know how to operate it.
I ordered an Auto Focus kit with this laser. It turn out the AF kit was not compatible with my laser. Come to find out the laser I purchased was a discontinued older model. It had no provisions for an Auto Focus. There was no explanation or description in any sales info of which models the AF kit was compatible with. I will have to make intensive modifications to the laser frame & case for the AF kit to work. Includes drilling, sawing & removing sheet metal. Which would void any warranty. Which, as far as I’m concerned is worthless anyway.
It was advertised the controller was compatible with .CDR (Corel Draw) format. Not so. I have to convert to .RD files to use Lightburn. I have .CDR files that don’t copy. They get corrupted during transfer.
I purchased the Lightburn software tutorial pkg off the OMTech site, from a 3rd party vender. The download is extremely large. There were issues with corrupted files during download. I finally gave up, wrote this experience of as a bad lesson & moved on.
As I said to begin with, I have not been able to use this laser since delivery on January 15, 2021. A $2000 block of blue/white metal is sitting in my house. I have no explanation why I’ve had such misfortune with OMTech Lasers. I’ll not use this company nor recommend to anyone.

So there are two facets to this..
So there are two facets to this... the machine... and getting it here
Getting it here was a struggle... much of which boiled down to repeated miscommunication.
I went to the office to see the laser in person... was told they had one in stock.... I bought the laser the next day and got an auto email saying 8 weeks. I called in asking about the discrepancy.... they said 3 weeks.... I called in again when it didn't show that it shipped. I was told 2 weeks more.. and that fell through. I ran through so customer service people... some nicer than others... in the end I got my machine 8 weeks to the day.
I probably sounded crazy and hysterical... but my credit card had been charged for 4k... and I was worried. Had I gotten straight info from the start... 8 weeks would have been fine... I just felt like I got the run around and $4k is a lot of money for me.
BUT... I am hearing and reading good things and I think they have had some training for their staff and I believe this has all been improved.
Now the machine is a different story....LOVE THIS MACHINE. It's a good product. It's not for the unskilled... you have to be able to read directions and follow steps and apply some logic to what you're doing... aside from that... its fantastic. I've pulled in a couple friends to but one... it exceeds what I thought I could accomplish so quickly. I amaze my friends ... and play cool like "pffft that's nothing"
I have ZERO buyers remorse... and I always wish I had done something different when I buy stuff... and I have none of that with this
I bought a 100w red/black with manual focus and a 5200 water chiller
