Nick's BuildingReviews of nicksbuilding.com

I experienced excellent customer service and my door turned out absolutely gorgeous. I would highly recommend Nick's Building.

Their performance: - They do not stick to delivery dates. They were weeks late. - Technical performance not acceptable, the holes for the door hardware cut into the doors do not fit to the ones in the jamb. All doors need to be reworked to make them closed. - Pocket door hardware wrong. They delivered hardware for a dual sliding door. - One order for two more doors were supposed to be delivered 2 weeks ago. I paid them completely plus an acceleration fee. Still no info when delivery will occur. - The 8 ft mahogany doors itself look great!

The quality of the doors are excellent and the sale side was easy as it should be. Operationally after you place your order is poor. They use outside companies and once you place your order you are in limbo. I made several attempts to track items that were due and never showed. They used a trucking company that did not have a truck large enough for my 3 doors so they say in their warehouse for days with no updates. I took two days off from work as they were scheduled to be delivered and they never showed. They asked if I could come get the doors one and half hours away? I finally got management involved as Nicks doesn't follow through with the shipping peice to get this taken care of. I was finally told they would be at my door at 9am next day as they knew it was holding up the job and they never showed. After waiting 6 hours I was told they would be there late. Nicks should own the process from start to finish to ensure customers are getting their orders instead of dealing with separate companies.

Great experience ordering with Nick's Building. The doors are absolutely the most beautiful interior doors I have ever seen. I got 7 doors in the knotty alder with the provincial oak finish. I would not change anything about the quality or service we received. A couple of things I would recommend though is to get samples from Nick of the various stains to make sure you're getting the color you want. Also---since Nick's is a wholesaler, the doors have to be sent via truck, and you have to have your contractor be able to unload the doors of course. Also---because of the way the doors had to be packed---the jams and frames had to be "built"---just something you need to consider when going through a wholesale supplier. I went to Nick's because the doors I wanted were not available anywhere locally. Nick's service and attention to detail was absolutely outstanding. Again.....the most beautiful doors ever!

I have bought several doors and all have been beautiful. Mahogany and Knotty Alder both were heavy doors and well made.

The doors were beautiful. The only problem is that there is 3/4 inch gap between them when they are closed. The strip outside the doors that the doors butt up against had to be removed because they were too far into the frame meaning that the doors wouldn't shut. When I ordered the doors, the service was great, I couldn't have asked for better. When things went complicated though it took us three different people to talk to to get them to understand what was going on. I did not want to put a strip on the backside of the door to keep the light from coming in but that's what we are going to end up doing. Hopefully the stain that was sent will match the doors. Just to be clear, the doors were pre-hung so there shouldn't have been any problem with the doors fitting. The frame fit perfectly in the opening provided. They make a beautiful product but after all the issues that went on after trying to install them and make them look as beautiful as they should, I might consider another alternative..

veneer on edges of all the doors is loosely attached and is coming off W/R to the smaller door (60X80), the working door was not straight and there is a 1/4-inch bow at the top - everything is plumb but it doesn't sit flush against the other door when they are closed the interior sides of many of the the double glass window inserts installed in the doors were apparently dirty on installation, and of course can not be cleaned. the stripping on the bottom of the door is plastic not metal not happy with the doors

I ordered an eight foot front door--everything went well, from ordering thru delivery--excellent service!!
