Some caution needed
In general this works well. But those ordering the 2.0 system--which works without involving a phone hookup (you just plug the unit into a wall outlet)--should be aware that you may find you'll need to move the unit just so it will work. It kept losing its connectivity at the location I'd chosen for it, in a very small apartment. I wasn't aware that this mattered until an amber light started blinking. I had to call Medical Guardian for reset instructions each time. I was told that the unit should be closer to a window. I have it there now but if that amber light starts blinking again, I may have to give up on this system as there are no other locations for it where I live. Also, because there had been quite a lot of inconvenience for me, the company promised me a month of free service. That hasn't happened.
