Update. . . Halo did reach out to try and make right by offering a replacement or a gift card to reimburse the newly bought beacon. When I replied about taking them up on their offer, it has been crickets. No response.
I used the product for less than a year. Collar will not turn on unless on the charger. Only $500 to replace. I also just bought a remote beacon less than 3 weeks ago to use because of poor connection issues. They will also not return or refund. Worst product ever used. Poor quality. Would randomly shock the dog on the couch. Better off buying a gps tracker

Just a more expensive piece of garbage…
Just a more expensive piece of garbage than the Halo 4. While charging time is shorter and battery life longer, Count on having the collar getting a critical error at some point that will render it useless at least once per year. At that point, your pet will be unsafe for at least 2 weeks while you wait an exorbitant time for the warranty claim (if you’re lucky) to process and send another collar. For $500-600 each customers should expect both better warranty service and a more durable, long-lasting product. The “dog park” is also a waste of time as a customer service model.

We’re disheartened to hear about your experience and would love the opportunity to assist.
To clarify, our warranty replacements are typically shipped within 1–2 business days once you've verified your shipping address, with delivery generally taking 3–5 business days. Should anything happen duringthat time, we'll be happy to take a closer look and support you in any way we can.
We also offer several support options, including phone, email, and our in the Halo Dog Park. Additionally, live chat is available if you have questions outside of business hours.
We’re going to reach out to request a bit more information so we can continue working on this with you, and we’d be happy to assist further once we hear back.

Good website experience and support, but product quality needs work
The ordering process on their website was smooth, and customer service was responsive. However, the product itself just doesn't hold up. Build quality feels cheap, and performance has been unreliable. If they could fix the quality issues, this would be a solid device. For now, it's hard to recommend.

Inaccurate
WILDLY inaccurate boundary cues. Do not get if you have a narrow yard, trees, bushes, have an existing/partial fence line, or a home near a road/boundary. Essentially only made to be used in a large open field if you want accurate cues. My dogs were in the middle of our yard (within boundaries) getting warning cues. We’re on over half an acre! $600 collar doesn’t even come with a charging block. No warranty past 90 days unless you want to pay an additional subscription fee per collar (on top of the mandatory one) for replacements, and you still have to pay hundreds to replace if it breaks. You also have to pay $25 fee per collar to return within the 90 days. I was so excited for these but was immediately let down by the poor quality. I at least was approved for a refund and it was easy to get ahold of customer service. I just wouldn’t recommend this product.

We’re disheartened to hear about your concerns and would love to assist in any way we can. To clarify, each collar purchased from our website or an authorized retailer includes a 1-year warranty, which covers replacement of the collar for eligible issues during that time.
The collar is designed to perform across a wide range of environments, both large and small, so we’re sad to hear you’ve experienced accuracy concerns. In many cases, these types of issues can be improved through settings adjustments or a session with our live support team. We'd have loved the chance to continue working on this with you.
We understand you’ve since moved forward with a refund, but please don’t hesitate to reach out if anything comes up in the future. We’re always happy to help and appreciate your time.

False advertising and extra fees…
I purchased 2 Halo 4 collars and 2 years worth of service.
The collars held a maximum of 12-16 hours - far less than advertised. They also failed to track. They frequently lost connection even though I could walk to the same location with my phone and have tracking.
I reached out to customer support but their messenger has the send button covered by their logo making it impossible to communicate. Their scheduled support calls were booked weeks out. Instead i put in for a return and stated my issues. No ever reached out.
I purchased 2 Halo 5 collars to replace then hoping for a better product. Within a month one collar was laying on the ground. My dog was unprotected and untrackable. The rivets had fallen out. Halo mailed me 2 new rivets with no instructions in text or photo. A rep on the phone told me to “add a drop of glue.” So I repaired the brand new $500 collar myself. The other collar is now missing a rivet.
My refund finally came and they held $74 from me. They charged me $25 for each and witheld the shipping. So I now paid for shipping twice for 1 shipping label.
They called this a “restocking fee” which means they either lied or they restocked the faulty Halo 4 collars for resale.
I asked this be escalated to a manager and was told I would hear back within 24 hours. That was over 48 hours ago. Their help messenger is still not working correctly.
So the Halo 4 didnt work ad advertised. I was charged $74 for their return despite also buying the Halo 5. The Halo 5 collars are 6 weeks ild and literally falling apart. And customer service is abysmal.
There is nothing redeemable here.

We’re disheartened to hear about your dissatisfaction and would have appreciated the opportunity to connect directly to help resolve this with you.
Our live support teams are available by phone and in the Dog Park 7 days a week, so we’re sorry to hear you weren’t able to get connected.
Regarding battery usage, it’s normal to see higher drain during initial setup, as the app is used more frequently and the collar is gathering data in your area. This typically stabilizes over time, but we’re always here if anything feels unclear or you’d like help reviewing it along with GPS and connectivity settings.
In terms of returns, our policy outlines that restocking fees and original shipping charges are non-refundable. However, we do provide prepaid return labels, so you are not charged for return shipping.
We’ve also reached out directly for additional information so we can connect with you and ensure your case is reviewed by our management team as requested.

Do not buy this product!
We have been using the Halo collar for 2 years. At first, it seemed like a great product, it functioned as it should. Just after the 1 year warranty was expired, suddenly the collar had a "critical error" requiring replacement. We reluctantly purchased another one only to have the same thing happen 1 year later. Again "critical error" requiring replacement. The problem is with the battery level, and they shut down the functionality of the collar. It still charges and turns on, why shut it down? Why not send a new battery? Why do I have to purchase a whole new collar for $500? On top of this I have been reaching out to customer service via email, and have not gotten a response to multiple inquiries over a 2 week period. Please save yourself the headache of dealing with this company and look elsewhere for a similar product.

I cannot un-recommend this company…
I cannot un-recommend this company enough.
I purchased a Halo Collar for a total of $588.88, plus the additional $14.99 monthly subscription. At checkout, delivery was advertised as 2–4 business days. According to FedEx, business days even include weekends.
Then the delivery date changed to May 8th — already 7 days after the original shipping date.
On May 3rd, the package arrived in the next town over from me. Since then? It has sat there. Completely unmoved. Today is May 11th, and this package has now been sitting in Aurora, Colorado for 8 straight days.
On May 9th, I attempted to contact Halo support, which honestly deserves its own review. Their phone system disconnected automatically, the chat feature repeatedly redirected me to invalid links, and the “Dog Park” support in the app was also broken. After HOURS of trying, I finally reached a live person using a completely different number I found through ChatGPT.
That agent told me Halo would not do anything unless FedEx stopped updating the tracking for 3 full days. Never mind the fact that the package clearly hasn’t physically moved in over a week — because FedEx keeps posting meaningless “updates,” Halo considers that acceptable. I was told to “call back Monday.”
So today, Monday, I tried again. Same issues. Broken support systems, disconnected calls, endless limbo.
Then I spent over an hour on hold with FedEx, only to be told THEY can’t do anything either because Halo, as the shipper, has to file the claim. When I explained Halo refuses to file one until tracking stops updating for 3 days, FedEx basically shrugged and said there’s nothing they can do.
And THEN I find out Halo shipped a nearly $600 collar using FedEx Economy Ground — with NO insurance and essentially no meaningful FedEx support attached to it.
I’m sorry… what?
You are charging SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS for a DOG COLLAR and chose the absolute cheapest shipping option possible to save what… maybe $20?
That decision alone tells me everything I need to know about this company.

Company won’t issue my refund
The collar did not fit our needs so I returned it. FedEx confirmed proof of delivery to the halo warehouse in Tx April 1st. I shared a copy of this confirmation with the company via email on April 3rd - no response. I called on April 6th and they told me the refund should be issued by April 10th which never happened. I sent additional emails inquiring but they went unanswered. My experience connecting with customer service has been delayed and challenging. The customer support representatives that I have talked to on the phone have been friendly, but ultimately no one has answered my question of why my refund hasn’t been issued yet. My last communication with the company was yesterday, they said they are still “looking into it.” ITS NOW APRIL 18th AND THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED MY REFUND despite the product being retuned since April 1st. Hoping this review gets someone’s attention so they send me money back.
