I just received my Halo Collar Remote. As a matter of fact I’m holding it in the palm of my had as I write. That’s an important point because speaks to how light and thin the remote is.The remote came ready to use and I gave it a go by calling my dog back into the house using the whistle feature. I will write another review in a little while once I have used it for a bit So far I’m impressed

While I will say it’s a great collar and I love it the add harassment I get is non stop and it doesn’t go away. On every platform I have there’s a halo collar add. It’s borderline harassment at this point and I just wish it would stop

These collars have changed my life with my dogs, they picked up on how these work so quickly. Overall I am happy with my purchase, my two issues are; 1. If you have buildings are your property, the GPS will not stay accurate, the collars often go off when my pups are inside the house and considered "safe". not sure why they randomly do that, but it seems to confuse my pups. I just make sure I turn off the fences manually as soon as they enter the door. 2. The collars do not come with a charging block, not a huge deal since most people have charging blocks already (I did not), but for over $500.00 plus the monthly fees, I would think they would include a $10.00 charging block in the package. The app is confusing until you get the hang of it, you can not walk out a fence guidline like they make it seem, you have to map out the fence with the pins on the app, which can be frustrating. Overall a great buy, but does have some bugs that need worked out within the GPS system.

Good options for encuragements and preventions. Should add a option to add your own voice and words for the dog. Should also allow changing the times between the encouragement and prevention events. They seem too constant, if the collar is moving back towards the fence it constantly does encouragement whistles, which is probably just as annoying to the dog as a preventive buzz.

So I have had as least 4 generations of halo collars. I have not tried any other gps collar so could not compare to those I can only compare to the other generation of halo. Current ones 4 or 5 are definitely better then the older models. Right now my dogs have been on their collars for about an hour. They charged all night last night. Two have halo 4 and one halo 5. Halo 4 are at 30hrs remaining and halo 5 is at 34 hours remaining. They still lag from the time the dog hits a notifing event to when I get notified. I might get the notification right away or five minutes or so later. The collars reliability with the beacons is the same highly unpredicatable it does not keep a consistant distance so my dogs will get randomly shocked where they have always been safe in distance from a beacon. Beacons are highly unreliable. Hopefully Hallo will figure out how to do a fence within a fence and do away with the beacons all together. We have stayed with the collar simple fact as reading reviews on other gps collars seem to have similar issues and I need a gps collar for my whole 14 acres to be used by my dogs. I do reccommend a gps collar for full use of ones property.

We are loving the upgrade of the Halo5 collar! Connectivity is great and so far we have had no issues with critical errors.

Not the worst, not the best. They can do some improvements in their training with big dogs

Steep learning curve. Support was patient and very helpful to get started. I am learning slowly as dog and I experience what works best. I like the freedom and security the collar provides.
