Beware of Crunch S Tampa, they overcharged me. You?
Do not let this fittness location at Crunch South Tampa have you checking or bank info, no matter what you're told.
Credit card only because this location is highly unethical and overcharges. Michael signed me up and he was a different person when I canceled. I'd been ignored by Michael and Chris over email and phone for many weeks.
When I went in to cancel Michael was highly defensive. I still haven't received any funds returned to my CC.
Leonard Green & Partners should be wary of this location's fraudulent practices.
Additionally, I've been a member at Crunch Lakeland and Crunch St. Pete. Totally different experiences. Everyone was friendly, easily canceled due to moves, no overcharging.
Why have Michael at S Crunch Tampa if he can't help members? "That's not how it's done."
S Tampa needs new management because they're a bad seed --> $$$.
I highly recommend brand reputation management for Crunch. And, maybe Chequan Lewis and Jim Rowley need replacing.

TOOK 450$ for no reason
So my husband has been going there for about six months and really enjoyed it and he did personal training with Kevin and he saw really good results. He ended up leaving so my husband stopped personal training sessions.
So they stopped taking out the membership fee the last two months and then out of nowhere they took out $450 out of our bank account and when my husband called up there, they said that the math wasn’t adding up and they didn’t know why they took out that much money because they should’ve only taken out Max $70 when my husband had asked for who they should call because the website said to call their local Crunch, he couldn’t give him an answer and talk to the manager, and the manager said for him to call the billing department and they didn’t know the number to that department.
What kind of training are these people getting if they can’t escalate a situation or if they can’t escalate the situation to give them a number to call?
I’m surprised to hear that this company does it to hundreds of other people as I posted on my local Facebook page that they have the tendency of taking out hundred dollars in this economy you can’t just take out that much money without giving an explanation. My husband hasn’t even been there for a year for your annual fee. I’m surprised you guys do not have a class action lawsuit against you.
We got our money back through the bank.

I strongly recommend staying away from this Crunch Fitness location in Plantation.
My wife spoke directly with an employee named James and was told that her membership would be put on hold for three months. Based on that conversation, we expected the membership to remain frozen and for there to be no monthly charge during the freeze period.
Instead, we were charged anyway.
I personally called the gym to resolve the issue and spoke with a person who identified himself as the manager, Freddy. Unfortunately, his response was extremely disappointing. Rather than taking the time to investigate what happened with James or make a genuine effort to correct the charge, he did nothing meaningful to resolve the problem.
This is not the kind of customer service I expect from a business that is charging people for a membership. If an employee tells a customer that a membership is being frozen for three months, the customer should be able to trust that information.
What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of accountability from management. Freddy’s handling of the situation was the final reason we decided to cancel the membership.
We were loyal customers, but after being charged when we were told the membership was on hold and then receiving virtually no help from management, we no longer felt comfortable continuing our membership.
Very poor customer service, very poor management response, and a complete lack of accountability.
I would not recommend this Crunch Fitness location to anyone. There are plenty of other gyms where customers can expect better communication, professionalism, and respect.

I have been a member since 2024
I have been a member since 2024. I often wonder about the value I get with my peak membership plan there. I find the fees excessive and today I inquired about downgrading my membership and the staff member rudely warned me that if I chose to do that hey would charge me another annual gym maintenace fee as if I started over. I said why would you punish me for that he said was their policy. I am looking for a new gym.

I started this year working out at crunch fitness center in Anaheim. I met a trainer name Matt Mcroy right away he treated me as family. Now when i'm working out , he'll see me and ask me how's things are and if I need anything and for me to keep the good workup. He is a true blessing to that corporation.
