Just like the previous review, super unhelpful to me during Helene as I am based in WNC. Not only were there no good data upgrades that were fair market they had nothing to offer to help despite being for progressive causes. Now I am trying to get a transport number to end my account, after almost 15 years of being a customer, and I've been on hold for over 30 minutes after having to talk to multiple people but they were very kind and helpful finally and gave me my pin I just wish it had been easier. I enjoyed supporting good causes all these years and the service was satisfactory. Its just hard when so many companies have been helpful to WNC to not go to a carrier that is cheaper and was there with my family plan.

I've been with Credo for years
Update: All of the below is true, but following this review I finally received support from Credo. They did not charge me for overage, but just the regular monthly fee. I admit I'm still astounded by how much effort it took to make them choose to be what they promote they are: A carrier with a conscious. I'm glad that they did, in the end. I appreciate it. Hurricane Helene is far from over in Western NC.
I've been with Credo for years. A commited customer and sent many friends their way too. Today I was totally dissed by their Rep when I called in to request some leeway for Data used this month... due to Hurricane Helene. We've had no coverage here in Asheville, we are in a disaster zone. the one thing we have is our cell phone, and the Grid was completely down for days after the storm. Finally we were told to open up our phones to Data Roaming, and that any carrier, ANY, would be available. These aren't casual, social calls. These are life and death calls.
So my data usage went up, since the only coverage we've been getting was between 1:30-3am nightly. I recv'd a text saying I'd used up most of my monthly data - I called and Credo's Rep kept me on the phone, promising help, saying "you've reached the right person" blah blah blah. She put me on HOLD twice, meanwhile using up what data I have left. Finally she told me to "turn my phone off" so I don't over use data this month. This is NOT a "carrier with a conscious" - far from it. They have no heart, no awareness at all. They are robotrons in human bodies. They're getting ditched as soon as I can once the dust settle here in AVL/WNC. Creeps.

My first bad experience with CREDO was…
My first bad experience with CREDO was when I was financially strapped while my 17 year old cat was dying of kidney disease. Due to the expense of her medication, I found myself short, and asked for an extension of paying my bill a couple of weeks late. I was waiting to hear back about a job possibility, and they were going to cut me off anyway. With AT&T, all you have to do is make a commitment to pay by a certain date, and they will grant an extension EASILY! Next, I was having reception issues for over 1.5 years. I only EVER had 1 to 2 bars signal strength. As long as it did not affect my livelihood, I dealt with it; however, I recently started working via an app where shifts are posted, and if you don't get there first ALL OF THE SHIFTS are gone! That happened to me several times when I was really strapped, and they would not even give me the tiniest discount for their terrible service which was LITERALLY costing me money! I have changed carriers, and I feel compelled to let others know the kind of customer service you will get here. Repeated incorrect information, and zero help improving the strength of your signal. ...and they still expect you to pay the full bill amount even though the service was actually insufficient.

absolutely terrible company
absolutely terrible company stay FAR FAR FAR AWAY from credo mobile. Customer service is absolutely infuriating they will just keep transferring you to someone who tells you the same thing as the last person. Have been trying to activate a new phone FOR 4 days and they have done nothing but make me more angry and tell me to wait longer. i have been without data for 3 days now. Not to mention the actual data they provide sucks. It’s off brand sprint and sprint is the worst of the data companies. Just go with verizon

They keep hassling me about stuff…
They keep hassling me about stuff happening in America and wanting me to take out their mobile plans. I left America over a year ago, I am not American. I don't use dollars. I have unsubscribed numerous times and they just keep spamming me.

Just say NO to Credo
We picked Credo because Consumer Reports gave them the highest score for connectivity of all their reviewed cellular companies. We found out the hard way that this is not true at all. Most places we tried to use our phones we were lucky to get any coverage at all. Occasionally we would see a couple 5G bars but this was rare. At home, even though we were assured we were in their coverage area we could mostly only make calls when on wifi. We were on a 15Gb shared plan but never came close to using that much because it basically was rarely available - until MAGICALLY after we cancelled our contract. Yup. That’s right. Suddenly we are 10+ Gb over our usage now that we are no longer customers. Hopefully they will fix their mistake prior to our final statement or they will be hearing from the BBB as well as my finding every possible place to provide a warning to avoid this company! There are so many to pick from so don’t make the same mistake we did and try someone else!!

Absolute trash company -as others have…
Absolute trash company -as others have stated, they have the most incompetent and unhelpful customer service on the planet AND YOU WILL NEED TO DEAL WITH THEM since they never activate the phone correctly. This will mean literal HOURS on the phone with these idi-ots just to do the 1 thing they really have to do -activate your damn cell phone... every time, its like they just opened yesterday and have no clue how to do their job. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE

Do not deal with Credo Mobile…
I got sucked into staying with Credo for years, seduced by its support for progressive causes. Do not deal with this company!
1. Assurance that unopened product (phone) was returnable for full refund was a lie. I had to promise to pay a $50 restocking fee to get an emailed return label or even a return address. None arrived, yet there is a deadline for returning the phone! Request to Customer Service unanswered. Running out the clock??
2. To change to Verizon as provider required me to call Credo repeatedly to obtain an Account Number. First call gave me a number missing a digit. Multiple calls to get the correct number. (Verizon rep said they often try to hide correct number to frustrate you into NOT switching providers.)
No answer to extensive email to Customer Service!
