I have been a Credo member for 20+years. They sold to another (unknown) company. They are now the absolute worst! Do not use this company. I was locked out of my online account for my password. Over 2 hours on hold waiting. No chat service available. They are upgrading and want customers to go through a complicated system to switch over. No customer service at all. I will be switching companies

Poor customer service that leaves phones disabled
In May 2025, Credo is changing its sim cards. My household has had 3 cellphones with them for over 10 years. We did as Credo advised, ordered physical sim cards from them, and then received emails about how to upgrade with e-sim cards. I followed those instructions, but that didn't work. I called tech support and they never picked up, although I kept the line open for over an hour, and they ended the unanswered call. I emailed their customer service. They emailed back saying they had tried to call my landline, but there was no evidence that they had called. Via email we set up a phone appointment to my landline. No call from them at that time, but then came an email saying they 'could not get through.' I emailed back asking what number they had called, because I'd been waiting for the call, had not received one, and there was no voicemail from them or other evidence of a call. Out of the blue, a customer service agent called my landline 90 minutes past the original appt. time.
We started working on phone #1. She asked if I wanted to use an e-sim and I said Yes. Then she found out my phone could only handle a physical sim. She asked me the serial # of the physical sim and I told her. Then I had difficulty removing the hard case, and her advice didn't work. Meanwhile, without my permission, she had switched phone #1 to the new sim card which I cannot install, so that phone is useless for phone calls and texts, and she said she is unable to switch it back to the original sim it still has stuck inside it.
So while I continued to work on trying to remove the protective hard case, I had my husband speak to her about updating his phone. On my own, I found a helpful video about removing hard cases. Mind you, Credo could have told us in advance that we could not use an e-sim, and they could have sent us videos on how to remove hard cases. But they didn't. Credo could not get their new sim card to work with my husband's phone, and during his interaction with customer service his sim card tray came flying out, and is still lost in space somewhere. And in any case, agent said she could not get the new sim to work with his phone, and a higher level tech person would reach out to him at some unspecified future time.
So meanwhile, I returned to work with the agent, given that on my own I had successfully researched how to remove hard cases. Then the tool Credo sent to dislodge the sim tray did not work. Agent told me to try a pin etc and I did, no avail. On my own I found a video about how to dislodge stuck sim trays. Meanwhile the agent suggested I view it and she would call back in 10 minutes. That was about 3 hours ago and no call back.
So I have made us appointments with ATT, after reading reviews on current 'service' with Credo, and hopefully all our phones will switch over to ATT tomorrow. Besides fairly high prices and poor cell coverage, there are no physical service centers with Credo, which is a real drawback with issues like this. It's like they try to train you, via email and on the phone-- when you can even get them on the phone-- to be your own techie, but you still have to find instructional videos on your own, and even then, the necessary servicing from Credo doesn't happen. And this takes hours and hours of our time, which they do not reimburse us for, and leaves us without any cell service on all three phones, though of course we are still billed as if we had active service from them.

They just don't care
They just don't care about solving problems or answering questions, that resolve issues. Their direction on pretty much anything is abysmal - their sense of urgency is non existant, they answer legitimate questions - with questions. They simply suck beyond belief but have good pricing, that comes... at a price

Don’t fall for this scam!!
Don’t fall for this scam!!! One of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever encountered, just to use their service which we chose due to their supposed donations to progressive causes. Could not get one of our phones to sync with their SIM card so contacted chat and it took awhile to get help. Then we’re told the wrong instructions so then had to call and was on hold for over 30 minutes. Person said there was an issue they could not help and would write a service ticket and would call us back but never did. Then called again, on hold for over 30 minutes again and then just tried to cancel to be done with it. We Never used the service and asked for a refund but they said the $90 was for set up fees…that never happened? Finally got canceled and then they charge us another final bill that they say will be taken to collections if not paid. Way to be “Progressive” Credo! They claim they donate to progressive causes but after some research, they give 1% when their CEO makes billions. Since they were bought out by a financial institution, they don’t care about anything but money. Don’t fall for their scam if you can!

Paying more for a very bad experience
I had been with Credo Mobile for decades and recommended them to others. Up until several years ago, I guess when they were purchased by another company, I was very pleased with their customer service. It was easy to get help and to get answers. But that has changed, sadly. I decided to switch to another carrier and based on the reviews I've read here, and my sister's experience, I expected the process of getting a transfer PIN would require a lot of patience. I was right. I was on hold for a total of two hours to complete a process that should have taken no more than five minutes. It is not the fault of the poor CSRs, rather it is the fault of the company's owners who are clearly not hiring enough people. Credo's rates are higher than nearly every other service provider and yet their customer service is in the basement. People don't need to pay more for such a bad experience. The new owners need to recognize this or that company is going to bleed customers.

No conscience here, just corporate greed.
When we became Credo customers many years ago (2010?), it was a wonderful company. Much has changed!
Last year, I missed a payment after my mother passed away. I never miss payments and have excellent credit, but in this time period, things were so hard and hectic that I didn’t even realize that I missed the bill. Both of our phones were turned off within weeks. The only call I could make was to Credo. The operator was very rude and demanded full payment for two months (not one) to restore service.
So, we changed carriers. Except, Credo held my husband’s phone number for ransom through another full billing month. He was on the phone with them every day for a month. It was awful. No one he spoke with could help. The day after we paid the bill for this unwanted month, suddenly they could release his number. What a scam.
To add insult to injury, the call centers are now --- clearly --- overseas and not in the United States. Most of the individuals that pick-up calls in these centers are reading English off of a screen but are not actually competent, capable or empowered in anyway.
Shame on Credo for calling themselves the company with a conscience! How dare they make this claim when their day-to-day operations reflect the worse of American corporate greed and poor management.

On hold with tech support for over a…
On hold with tech support for over a half hour. The reason I had to call was that I can't complete a compulsory sim card "upgrade" on their website.
I've been with CREDO on and off for 25 years or more (from the days of Working Assets). This is the first time I've experienced such a delay in service, but it seems in line with other people's comments of late.

absolute nightmare
absolute nightmare, impossible to reach someone, every person you reach gives you a different answer, they were not able to fix my service after a WEEK of emails at least 25, all reps just suggesting stuff that I had already tried, they repeat themselves without checking the history, absolutely the most disrespectful ever, no regard for customer time. stay away. Absolute nightmare. Carrier with a conscience? What about having a conscience about customer service?
