Almost every single shipment has broken/smashed items. I complain about this every time it happens, and they send out replacements, which are not usually the correct replacements. Also, the replacements arrive smashed and broken. They pack heavy 40lb bags of litter with animal treats that get smashed. I really don't want extra smashed stuff. I just want my treats to be intact, as they are hard, chew treats for hamsters. They're expensive and it's important for them to chew. I have deleted my auto-shipment and figured out how to get all of my items elsewhere for the same price. Something needs to change in their shipping department.

Placed an order ($200) with them on a Sunday. By Monday I received an email saying that the order had shipped. The order came in three different boxes (!), and unfortunately, the one item that I needed (food) took 10 days to arrive in its separate little box. When I contacted their customer service via email, I received a response that said the food had to ship from a different warehouse and was therefore delayed. Of course, they didn't notify me of this until I asked what happened to my order. Very poor communication on their part, and not at all helpful. Since they offer NO options for different shipping (express, overnight, etc.) you are stuck with their regular shipping (FedEx), which might be 2-3 days...or you might have to wait a lot longer. Honestly, I could have had the local pet store order the food for me and it would have taken just as long. I don't see the advantage to using Chewy, especially if you are counting on their advertised delivery times.

Prices are great and shipping is always prompt. Worked with me to ensure my new prescription food was coordinated with my vet's office. Chewy makes being a pet parent less stressful.

Good luck trying to return anything. They sent an email that supposedly had a return label. No label attached. When I mentioned that they asked me to donate it to the local shelter. The shelter doesn’t need an automatic Chicken coop door. Now they won’t respond. The claim of hassle free returns on the site is not true.

I have been a customer for over a year and up until this month, I have been happy with Chewy.com. For some reason this month my order was processed and the money was removed from my acct on 10/15. Then on 10/17, I get an email stating my order was canceled. I did not cancel my order though?!?! I waited to see if my order would be delivered on 10/17 and it was NOT. I called on 10/19 and spoke to a lady that could not tell me what happened on my acct. I asked her to refund my acct and she stated she would. As of today, I have still NOT been refunded. I called back AGAIN and was told that the refund request was NOT done when I called on 10/17. The man I spoke to today stated the refund would take another 3-5 days. I'm so disappointed at this point that I don't even want to shop with Chewy anymore. I think it's unacceptable that I have to wait for a refund request to be put in rather than Chewy automatically issuing me a refund due to a canceled order. I feel like if I was not paying attention then Chewy would have kept my money with no order. BTW my order status on my acct states that my order was DELIVERED and it wasn't. Poor customer care if you ask me.

They are great. Have items I need for my very special dog as Lilly is my service dog. I order dry and wet food, toys and treats.
