Massive hassle
Multiple calls and emails to place a simple order. Also I was overcharged and then had to make more calls. Not happy with Chewy.

All of the items I order for my cat are prescription items for an older cat with renal disease. So far I have 3 different items (set up at different times) and each time my vet's office has to call 2 and 3 times with the approval before it gets applied to my account. Last Friday the vet's office said they called and even told me the date of my auto ship for the item, then I looked online tonight and after contacting Customer Service they said they have not received my vet's approval. My vet's office says this happens all of the time. Once the items are approved, the auto ship has been fine. But needing a prescription item for a pet and having to check and have my vet contact them multiple times is very frustrating.

I placed an order for insulin; less than 24 hours later, my cat passed away. When I called to cancel the order, I was asked why and I explained he had passed. You could hear the empathy in her voice, the genuine sadness over my loss. Within a day of cancellation, I received flowers from the operator who took my call. I'm SUPER impressed with the compassion of Chewy and their representatives! They see the consumer as humans, not just another number. In our times, that's rare.

My experience with the Autoship feature for pet food from Chewy was terrible. I set my delivery timeframe at 21 days. Which would result in me having 4 cans of dogfood left over every single delivery (2 days worth of food). First order was received within a couple of days of setting up autoship. Second order was set to deliver after 21 days but I didn't receive it until day 23. No biggy, I planned ahead and had that 2 extra days of food from the first order and was told by customer service this is not typical and I will receive my orders going forward on day 21 each time. Fast forward 24 days and I still didn't receive the next order. So I contact service who suggests that I really should budget 3 extra days of food and adjust to a 20 day cycle. So we do that. My next order after making that change has not even processed yet and it is day 22 now and I contacted service and they said I will not receive it until the 25th day. Despite my window being 20 days. Customer service was rude, slow, and did not read my words when I typed to them. They made no effort to save me as a customer. I have cancelled my autoship from Chewy. I recommend you stay away too.

Perhaps a bit more expensive than other places, but well worth it. A few times we had issues with damaged items, and Chewy replaced right away. When our elderly dog passed away suddenly, I had just ordered a large amount of food and treats. They refunded our money and let us donate the food we had received to our local shelter. They also sent a lovely thoughtful card and flowers in memory of our dog. A wonderful company.

Both of the problems I have had in the past few years has been in shipping. One was when case of 36 cans came, the cans were bent at the top. And if try to open damaged can you know it is almost impossible to get them open. I sent them a e-mail about that. And they replaced the cans! What a company

I ordered 2 expensive bags of duck jerky from Chewy. When I opened the delivery box, I was shocked to see 2 bags of chicken jerky instead of duck. I immediately contacted Chewy to alert them that they had sent me the wrong item. The CS proceeds to tell me that they don't carry this particular brand of duck jerky and haven't in a long time and that I must've ordered chicken by mistake. I then searched Chewy website and duck jerky wouldn't show up so I started doubting myself. But then I started googling and after several attempts found the duck jerk on Chewy website, proof that it was available recently. When I showed CS this proof, he finally confessed that they were out of duck so pulled a switcheroo, removed the item from showing up in the search and hoped I wouldn't notice. If that weren't bad enough they charged me for the duck jerky, which were $7 higher than chicken. This is obviously highly dishonest and unethical. I will never order from this phony baloney company ever again!!!!!!
