Fight or Flight
Fight or Flight. I guess i have been in this delima for my whole life. It seems as I have gotten older, it has become harder to control or hold back this urge to fight my way, strategize my way, argue my way out of something at work or HOME. This urge to protect my self worth or to confront someone who I thought was challeging my intellegence, my methods what ever, has created many conflicts with my wife of 49 years. To the point where she has thrown up her hands and said "you'll never change" and filed for a divorce. I wish I had had this knowledge of what was going on inside me 49 plus years ago...maybe I would still be with my high school sweet heart..and we would be living the dream....Somewhere there was a balance between smooth talking, controlled aggressions and in the last days anger, frowns, constant irritation, short tempered, loud, not being able to cope and brush aside the smallest irritant, too sensitive, last days of my life with my wife..and frankly I don't blame her, to be out of control is misery for both sides...me and her. Now maybe she is free. free to rebuild her life, to find a happy...happy that was not there while she was with me....maybe I finially provided an environment where she could be happy....
