I was so excited when I started Cerebral! It really seemed like they had it together. My first visit was scheduled same day with an APRN. She was excellent in her patient education and individualizing medication choices. The first month was sent to my local pharmacy which was perfect because I was also able to pick it up same day and get started on my treatment plan. My first visit with the counselor was great, she listened well and gave useful feedback. My opinion greatly changed after the first month though. I have NO clear plan of what month two is supposed to look like. I have NO idea of when I meet with the APRN again or the counselor. My 30 days of medication was up and I reached out two days prior to the last dose. They ask you to write on the patient portal, so that is where I started. NO RESPONSE. When I got down to the last day of the medication (next day), I called the number that they have listed. The first two times I called and waited. No response and was sent to voicemail. I did leave a voicemail and asked for a call back. This was morning time. By late afternoon, I still did not hear back. I then reached out to my pharmacist to see if they would have better success asking for a medication refill. She said that there was no fax or call back number available as there are with most offices so this was a dead end. I called the customer service for Cerebral a third time and finally talked to someone. The gentleman was really nice and understanding. He told me that he would reach out to the APRN for a medication refill and for further guidance on what the plan of care was. I was also told that he would call back. I did not hear back from him but a medication refill was sent in for me. I have also checked my portal to see if a follow up was listed here and nothing. That being said, I feel that continuity of care is SO important when it comes to mental health. I do not wish to pay $99 a month for a headache. This is supposed to be a concierge mental health service. Medications included in the price of the service and delivered to your door. Instead, I have now picked up BOTH month supplies from the pharmacy and paid for them outside of the cost of this service. I do plan on cancelling my services with them and seeking traditional in person support. I feel like Cerebral COULD be a good service if they work out the kinks. The increased access to care is great but it should NOT be this difficult after the first month. Edit: I am not changing my original review as it is an honest review. Adding an extra star today, though. I will say that Cerebral has a great team working for them. I reviewed with them my frustrations (above) and they state that they will bring them to leadership to try and improve the process. I understand there were a few kinks here and it is possible with continued care that I would not continue to experience them.

So far, I have had an excellent experience with my care team, meaning my therapist and care provider. My therapist is great, and you can tell that she really cares about her clients, even though she is probably working with various similar companies/freelancing, when we have our appointments, I still feel as though I'm in a traditional therapy environment. The sign up process is pretty speedy, but there can be snafus, I had some issues with uploading my information, copies of ID, etc. and it took a few days emailing back and forth for the helpdesk to sort it out. once that was cleared up and my profile was complete, I scheduled my first appointment with ease from the app. I had my provider appointment, she prescribed me meds on a Monday, and they were delivered to me by that Friday. So that portion was pretty painless. Cons: scheduling function is just an online calendar that you use to select your appointment time, and for the last two schedulings I had two weeks in between each appointment- when it should normally be *weekly* therapy appointments. Whether this was due to individual therapist's availability issues, app issues or something else, was not fully clear. When I reported that I had only two therapy sessions for the month, I was given a substantial discount for the following 2 months, which at least shows they are quick to want to make things right with clients. There is also some technical difficulty within app, sometimes you need to adjust browser settings or sometimes the video doesn't work, but this is not a deal breaker, you always need to troubleshoot technology. I just had my appointment with my therapist over the phone because the video didn't work and it was just as effective, I feel. Summary: Therapy is expensive, and this is definitely far cheaper than what I would have been able to get traditionally for essentially the same quality; but I'm a little skeptical about some of the functionalities of the app, and some of the logistics re: assigning therapy. However they do seem to have a good handle on vetting the doctors & therapists, & customer support seems beefed up since earlier days. So far everyone I have dealt with within Cerebral has been professional, gracious, and helpful. It would appear that maybe people in various regions have varying results with this company. I am in New York and this has been my experience. If I have any other issues with shipping, or app functions, I will be updating but for now I have not had any issues with the shipping of my medication.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!! They lure you in with the promise of effective treatment options for anxiety including benzodiazepines. During the appointment I was informed that they will NOT prescribe benzodiazepines. The care provider, Chris Archer was disrespectful & unprofessional! Save your money! In addition, I have had real trouble trying to get this company to cancel my account. Seriously, Cerebral does not make cancellation easy. Very poor communication and long wait times. Cerebral flagged this review! AVOID This company!!!!

I love my provider and Lauren. However I am frustrated with getting my prescriptions. It has been over a month and they medicine for anxiety and sleep I still haven't been able to get because it was not sent to my pharmacy.

I no longer feel that I can trust Cerebral and the care it offers. I am a patient with a history of depression and a family history of suicide and I was prescribed Lexapro without being fully informed of its possible side effects, including the black box warning of an increased risk of suicide, which I experienced for three of the worst days of my life over the weekend while my Cerebral care provider was unavailable to me. Upon talking with other patients that have been prescribed Lexapro, they were prescribed it with FULL information and were allowed to give informed consent regarding what they were taking and the possible risks. My Cerebral care provider took away my right to give informed consent. I had no idea of the possible side effects aside from dry mouth and insomnia and spent two and a half days fighting suicidal thoughts and debilitating panic attacks upon starting the medication my Cerebral care provider prescribed to me. I am through the worst of it now NOT because of the Cerebral service but because of friends and family who devoted their weekend to helping me survive it when I felt like I was losing my mind and wanted to die. As someone with an autoimmune disease, I have been taking medications with possibly dangerous side effects for the past 30 years and I have never had a doctor not be 100% up front about the possible risks, from ulcers to cancer caused by the biologics I took for RA. My Cerebral care provider betrayed my trust by not fully disclosing important information about the drug she prescribed me, which seems negligent at best. Had I known I would be at an increased risk for suicidal thoughts, I never would have agreed to this medication because I am very careful about what I put in my body. The only thing my Cerebral care provider asked me was if I had any questions or concerns about starting the medication, which I did not because I foolishly assumed she had given me full information on the drug. How could I have possibly asked the right questions if I didn't know what to expect after the potential risk was minimized? If this is how Cerebral practices mental health care, you are setting a very dangerous precedent and betraying everyone who trusts your company.
