First time ever did thought of therapy and realize it was very comfortable very confident in knowing who I was and who I am

The entirety of my adult life I have been afraid to get help for my mental health. In April of 2021 I came to the conclusion that I could no longer avoid getting the help I needed. My Cerebral team was very patient with me and made the process of asking for help a lot less nerve wracking than I thought it was going to be. I’ve been using this program for a little over a year now and it has done wonders at helping me learn to function and cope with the imbalances of my brain. I definitely recommend Cerebral to anyone looking for low cost mental health help. It’s worth it.

Any time I’ve had any sort of issue with my account (usually technical issues), it’s been cleared up within a day or two, and my care team has always kept me in the loop regarding what they’re doing to fix things. My prescriber is also one of the sweetest people I’ve ever spoken to and I feel so safe and secure talking about what’s bothering me, and she clearly sympathizes so much and I’ve ended every session with her with a big smile on my face regardless of how I felt at the beginning. This really is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself!

If I could give Cerebral 0 stars, I would. My entire experience with them has been atrocious. First, they will advertise that they have hundreds of therapists in network for you to choose from, and that they will match your preferences (such as gender, religious affiliation, age, etc). After providing my insurance information (which is a major insurance network, accepted in most medical settings) I was told that there were only TWO options to choose from, and neither of them met any of my preference requests. The first therapist I met with ended up cancelling my appointments with little to no notice several weeks in a row, and the second therapist would assign a specific day/time and if that didn't work for you, then you're SOL, there was no option to request a different day/time than the one he assigned. I wish I could say that being prescribed medication was a better experience, but unfortunately it was not. I was assured that refills would occur automatically, that I would not have to constantly remind them to call it in. This was not the case and I frequently ran out of my meds because they would not respond to my request for several days. On more than one occasion, they would switch who my prescriber was with no notice, and I would then have to wait several weeks to see them before they would refill my meds (leaving me without medication in the meantime). When I expressed concerns about how frustrating it was to be without the medication I needed to live a normal life, I was met with nothing but nonchalance and dismissive messages, basically stating "we're sorry you feel that way". This company does not care about the mental health or wellbeing of their patients, and should be avoided at all costs.

I had been struggling with basic everyday tasks, just always feeling so overwhelmed, I had already spent the past 5yrs doing my own inner work and had made great progress. I knew I was at a point where I was stuck, I didn't know how to over come what I was feeling, I suspected I might have ADHD, I saw an ad for cerebral and figured "why not?" It was in my budget, and I had nothing to lose by trying. I chose my prescriber and my care counselor and I am so grateful for them both. I cant even begin to describe the way my life has changed for the better. I have my adhd under control now, and I'm thriving in my life because of it. I am so grateful for this app and my care team.
