So I booked a reservation through here…
So I booked a reservation through here on accident. regardless, I was robbed in Spain and can no longer make the reservation due to my passport being stolen. After not hearing back from the billabook team and receiving an error message when trying submit a ticket on their platform. I reached out to the hotel directly and they will refund the reservation 100% and have written proof of that interaction. I have done everything to get in touch with their support from emailing, trying to message through the platform (It's bugged so you can't), and even tried messaging the C-Suite on linked in to get a reply. But it's been crickets from them. AMEX is running a fraud investigation on them as we speak. I would highly recommend never using this service and hope someone from their team gets back to me.
Response from BillabookAug 31, 2025
Dear Colin, Thank you for your feedback. We take all customer concerns seriously and would like to clarify a few points regarding this booking. Our platform requires full 3D Secure authentication for extra fraud protection, so reservations cannot be made “by accident.” This booking was made under a strictly non-refundable rate, clearly presented and agreed to at checkout. Your initial request was to change dates due to a medical issue affecting one of the travelers, and later you reported being a victim of theft. While we sympathize with both situations, neither is covered under the non-refundable policy. As per this policy, your booking was cancelled with 100% cancellation fees applied. The reservation was handled through a third-party supplier, who charged us in full according to the agreed terms. All relevant information has been provided to AMEX to be resolved through the proper dispute channels. Billabook remains committed to fair service. We always recommend selecting a refundable rate if flexibility may be needed, and we hope your future travels go smoothly.
