Well I was in a car accident on 10/19. So I decided to check my files. OK-I got a message to upgrade the firmware well ok. I did so and it FORMATTED my card after the upgrade and wiped my files. Now I don't have any video proof of the accident and I'm using various data recovery software to recover the files. IF you have to upgrade your firmware BACKUP YOUR FILES before doing so or your screwed. Nowhere does it tell you that upgrading the firmware will erase the card. I contacted customer support who's resposne was "OH WELL" sorry!-Buyer beware

We’re truly sorry to hear about your accident and the loss of your footage. We completely understand how upsetting that must be. Just to clarify, the firmware update itself doesn’t automatically erase the SD card. At the end of the update, there’s a prompt asking whether to format the card and it’s optional, not mandatory. It’s possible this step was confirmed too quickly during the process. We always recommend backing up important clips before any update, as the EVENT folder may also overwrite older files when full. Thank you for sharing your experience. Your feedback helps us make future updates and instructions clearer for everyone.
