They have customer service in another country and trying to get answer / help is absolutely awful.

Whose short-sighted idea was it to discontinue restorative dental care on the AARP/UHC Medicare Advantage Plan? The plan previously paid 50%. Yesterday, I had to get a crown on a tooth with a filling that lasted more than 50 years because the tooth had cracked. I had to pay $1,836 rather than $918. UnitedHealthcare will cover ZERO. No longer covering restorative dental care was a terrible decision on the insurance company's part since all AARP members are 50+ years old, and restorative dental care is what they/we need most!

The coverage is awful, the website is awful, the customer service is awful. I hate everything about it and would avoid UHC. Healthcare in this country sucks but there are better options.

I just wanted people to be aware of the way they speak to you. In their condescending, better than us conversations, they have when they tried to deny your benefits. They have told me that I had a medical director review. My care for a spinal surgery, and I didn't need to have my spinal surgery over the top of my triple board certified neurosurgeon, who has voted one of the best neurosurgeons in all of north texas. Worst insurance ever don't have a lot of doctors available and they give u the doctors who are just getting the job so the wait is extreme waited a month for an appointment now I have to wait another month and I am paying a lot of money every week worst decision ever

If I could leave a zero star review I would have. Had a drs appt with my Rheumatologist today approx 1 hour away from my home. When I arrived they said they couldn't see me because the United Healthcare site was down and they couldn't verify my referral from my primary care doctor. I called my primary care doc and they verified that they had made the referral but the doctors office wouldn't except that without being able to see it on the UHC portal. This is totally unacceptable. They need to be able to verify by email or fax and not turn patients away that have had an appointment for 6 months. In today's environment with systems being hacked on a daily basis UHC needs to put other methods in place. Now I have to drive another two hours round trip to hopefully see my doctor and get a new prescription for my medication which is already ridiculously priced at over $6000/mo. Who is going to compensate me for my time and fuel expenses for this wasted trip? I will be researching a new insurance company for the next year.
