This company is horrible they denied our claim to replace our roof. They said they would pay $1,900.00 to repair the water damage on the ceiling. They only paid $900.00 of the claim and will not pay what they promised. They increased our rates several times. Stay away from this company they don't do what they promise or pay claims. Lairs

I wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone know how terrible this company is
I wanted to take this opportunity to let Travelers know how unethical you have been with my business and pretty much acted like thieves. When my policy was up for renewal there was an audit I needed to fill out. I called numerous times to ask for an extension because I knew the accountant was not going to have the right paperwork needed to complete the audit. Each and every time I called I was told no there was no way to receive an extension, and that my policy was going to be dropped. Imagine that. I gave up trying because no one was helping me. I followed what was said. Accepted the fact that I was going to be dropped. Six months later I started receiving notices from Travelers saying I need to pay my $800 bill or I was going to be dropped??? I thought I was already dropped?? According to the people I spoke to prior I did not have a policy anymore. I decided to call up to find out what was going on and tell them I had no policy anymore. After calling they told me my policy was never dropped I had an 800 bill due immediately and I cant cancel the policy. Well not only is that 100% different from the multiple calls in the past but how was going to pay this bill that just slapped me in the face!!! For a policy I no longer needed. Now if that wasn’t bad enough, I told them I am closing and they response was until I showed them proof they were not going to drop the policy. SO…. I had been liked to, slapped in the face, and now they are calling me a liar. What a disgraceful company!! I really hope karma comes around to these thieves. I wouldn’t EVER do business with such a shystie place again!! I promise as long as I’m alive I will tell everyone and anyone about this so called front for a business. I will write this in as many places as I can and I will keep reposting my awful experience. If anyone would like other details feel free to contact me.

Worst insurance company ever
Worst insurance company ever. Had them three years for home insurance. They denied legitimate claims and I had to fix things out of pocket. Finally one claim they couldn't weasel out of they were ducking calls and eventually paid after fighting with them for 5 months. Two weeks later they sent a letter stating they were dropping my insurance.

Try calling Roadside assistance
Try calling Roadside assistance - not a good experience. If you don't know your policy number by heart, you can't fill out their online forms they send you to. And what if you don't have wifi wherever you're stuck?
They were unable to find me by my name and phone number. And, I have 5 policies with them!
Just spent 55 mins on the phone with them. Not at all sure it would be better in the future. Investigating other options.

Never Again
They denied us homeowners insurance due to leaves on our roof in a Google Earth shot taken in Fall 2022. They did this on the day our policy was due to start leaving us exposed. We had cancelled our other policy and were forced to scramble.

ABSOLUTELY AVOID TRAVELERS INSURANCE
ABSOLUTELY AVOID TRAVELERS INSURANCE AT ALL COSTS! (BECAUSE THE COSTS WILL BE ON YOU!) They will ignore you and your claim and communications in hopes of breaking your spirit and giving up. I would give 0 stars if I could.
We have been in a hellacious claim purgatory for 3 ½ months now. We had a leak occur while we were away for Christmas. My husband noticed something when we got back we got on it right away. We called a plumber and were told we needed water damage mitigation to come as soon as possible.
When we received the estimate from Travelers it seemed extremely low. Once we got the bill from the mitigation company we noticed large discrepancies between it and the Travelers’ estimate. We requested for the estimate to be reassessed by Travelers (as we were told to do in this circumstance). We did all of this in a very timely manner as we were leaving in a month to temporarily relocate to Kenya for my work. A new person, Haley, from Travelers was assigned our claim. After initial communication, Haley stopped responding. After three weeks of constant calls and emails to Haley and her supervisor, Matthew, with no response or acknowledgement I called the customer advocacy line at Travelers who told me our claim was marked to be closed. This was so upsetting as we had been trying so hard to communicate with Travelers and contest our claim. We have presented them with so much documentation and it is like pulling teeth to get them to work with us on anything. We are constantly met with silence from Travelers, and when we can get someone to talk to they are unhelpful and don’t engage with us, the mitigation company, or anyone we have tried to get to help mediate the situation. We feel so incredibly disrespected by Travelers we will be finding new home, auto, and valuables insurance as soon as we get back from Kenya!
This has added such an extraordinary amount of stress during an already stressful time leading up to relocating our family halfway across the world and then struggling to manage it from Kenya.
We have a 6 month old and a two year old. My husband and I are both nonprofit workers. $2,000 isn’t much to Travelers, but it is a huge amount to us. It is a huge chunk of our savings and has a huge impact on our daily lives. This is unbelievable, we really tried to do everything right! We caught the leak early and likely saved Travelers and ourselves so much money by doing so! Both my husband and I have lost sleep over this due to the frustration and stress.

I wouldn’t even give them one star if…
I wouldn’t even give them one star if that was an option. Years of paying premiums, and we file our first claim and they are absolutely screwing us. They don’t care at all. Customer care is not in their nature, they should be ashamed of themselves. We’ve already moved companies due to this horrific experience. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Do not use Traveler's Insurance
I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and frustration with the handling of my homeowner's insurance claim by Traveler's Insurance. Despite the clear terms of my policy and the extensive documentation provided regarding the damage incurred due to a burst pipe during the winter, Traveler's Insurance has consistently failed to honor their obligations and provide timely resolution.
Approximately three months ago, my property sustained significant damage as a result of a burst pipe. Understanding the importance of promptly filing a claim, I reached out to Traveler's Insurance immediately to initiate the process. However, instead of receiving the support and assistance I expected from my insurance provider during this distressing time, I have been met with obstruction, delay tactics, and an outright refusal to address the damages adequately.
One of the most concerning issues has been Traveler's Insurance's persistent demand for multiple bids for repair work, despite the fact that I am well within my rights, as per state law, to select the vendor of my choice. This has needlessly prolonged the claims process, causing further inconvenience and distress. Despite providing a comprehensive bid from a reputable contractor, Traveler's Insurance has arbitrarily rejected it, citing reasons that lack transparency and appear to be aimed at minimizing their financial obligation rather than fulfilling their contractual commitments to me, their policyholder.
Furthermore, the lack of communication and transparency throughout this ordeal has been deeply disappointing. Despite numerous attempts to seek clarification and resolution, I have been met with evasive responses and bureaucratic runarounds, leaving me feeling abandoned and unsupported by my insurance provider when I needed them the most.
Moreover, I am deeply troubled by the frequent changing of adjusters assigned to my claim and the continual shuffling of my complaint from desk to desk within your organization. This constant turnover not only adds to the confusion and frustration but also serves to further delay the resolution of my claim. It has now been 87 days since the claim was reported, and yet there seems to be no end in sight to this ordeal.
It is imperative that Traveler's Insurance takes immediate action to rectify this situation and honor the terms of my policy. I demand a fair and expeditious resolution to my claim, including the approval of the proposed repair work by the contractor of my choice. Additionally, I expect clear and timely communication regarding the progress of my claim and any further steps required.
Failure to address these concerns in a satisfactory manner will leave me with no choice but to explore all available avenues to seek justice, including lodging complaints with relevant regulatory bodies and seeking legal recourse.
I trust that Traveler's Insurance will recognize the seriousness of this matter and take the necessary steps to resolve it promptly. I look forward to your prompt response and a swift resolution to this unfortunate situation.
