Hi Julie, thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand the recent changes have been frustrating and appreciate the chance to clarify. Take Back Bag purchases are for a recycling and sorting service, while TrashieCash is an added reward benefit of participating in the program. It is not intended to be a dollar-for-dollar reimbursement of what was spent. The rewards program has evolved over time from earlier credit models, to points, and now to dollar-based TrashieCash to make balances clearer and easier to understand. While the way rewards are displayed and redeemed has changed, the intent was not to remove earned value. We understand long-time customers may have strong feelings about these updates, and that feedback is being shared internally. If you’d like us to review your account or answer specific questions about your balance, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Hi Michaela, thank you so much for your kind review! We’re so happy to hear that the process has been easy for you and that our customer service team was able to help when you needed it. Thank you for being part of the Trashie community and helping keep textiles out of landfills.

Hi Megan, thank you for your feedback. To clarify, the amount spent on Take Back Bags isn’t the same as your TrashieCash balance. The bags are a paid recycling service, and TrashieCash is an added benefit you earn for participating, not a 1:1 return of what you spend. We also want to reassure you that gift cards from many different amazing brands are still available on our website. You can view current options here: https://app.trashie.io/trashiecash-gift-cards. Reward types can rotate, so availability may change over time. With the recent update, we moved from points to dollar-based TrashieCash to make rewards clearer and easier to understand. Existing balances were converted into this new system, which can make totals look different than before. However, the underlying value of your rewards didn’t change.

Providing thoughtful, human support is really important to us, so it means a lot to hear this feedback!
