I’ve used Trashie for almost two years and during that time it’s gotten more difficult to use. The mailing partners have dwindled from easy to use partners like FedEx to partners with fewer locations that are farther away- a key consideration when you are relying on public transportation and lugging heavy packages. I had bought several clean out kits for future use, but given these limitations find them less usable due to this issue.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for being part of Trashie for almost two years! We know convenient return options make a big difference, especially for customers who rely on nearby drop-off locations.
The good news is that the current options are not intended to be permanent. We’re actively working to bring additional, more convenient return options online very soon, which will give customers more flexibility when sending their Take Back Bags back to us.
We really appreciate your patience while we expand these options and hope the upcoming changes make Trashie much easier for you to use again!

WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING!!! Scammer!!!
SCAM ALERT!!! Wolf in sheep’s clothing!
Don’t fall for their facade of trying to save the planet. Read all the negative reviews! They will bait and switch on you, delete your rewards and claim they did not, not honor annual subscription agreements, put out false advertising…list goes on and on.
My personal experience began with QR codes that didn’t work. Customer service took forever to respond and help. As others have stated, it’s better to donate to Goodwill. First time I used my Trashie Cash, I was disappointed at the over priced options on merchandise at their For Days marketplace (which no longer exists, btw). Second time I was upset that I could only use my Trashie Cash for 50% of my order at For Days. Third time I was furious because I know I had the exact balance of $103.71 US dollars in the form of Trashie Cash and now my account says I only have $8 😡. Customer service claims it’s the equivalent of what my Trashie Cash was, but that’s a TOTAL LIE!!! I have used their old rewards system twice before and fully understood the value of what I had. On top of that, I know the exact amount down to the penny because I wrote a note to myself as a reminder. On my last purchase, I was only allowed to use $75 US dollars worth of Trashie Cash. I was planning to use twice that amount, but their new policy restricted me from doing so. That means I would still have a the very least $75 since I couldn’t spend that much on my last order. (Btw, I still have the email from that order which is why I know the details without a doubt).
I reached out to customer service a second time regarding my missing $ but they refuse to reply anymore. This isn’t me saying I deserve to be reimbursed for money I paid to receive their fancy trash bags. It’s about Trashie being a dishonest scammer, They need to be shut out of business!
I know YOU Trashie, will comment on my post, claiming you’re all innocent and saving the planet, but with all the lies and deceit, WHAT ARE YOU REALLY DOING???
Update September 1, 2026 in reply to Trashie: I have screenshot this post along with your reply and am sending it through the customer support email conversation that I had already started and which remains unresolved. I hope you will be honest this time and restore my reward funds.

Hi Evy, we’re sorry for your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. For Days was a separate retail business with its own rewards and redemption structure, and ultimately that business model wasn’t feasible, which is why the company closed. TrashieCash launched with a different exchange rate and redemption model, so your rewards weren’t deleted—the balance reflects that conversion.
That said, we’d like to take a closer look at your account and see if we can find a solution that works for you. We’ve requested your information so our team can follow up directly.

Too hard to return bag
QR code just led to the site getting frozen and the little circle going round and round. I tried everything- log in to my account etc. You have no humans to talk to - just useless chat bots. Too irritating - will just throw bag in the garbage.

Hi Corinne, thank you for your feedback. We’re really sorry you ran into trouble registering your bag. We absolutely do have a Customer Service team of real people available to help, and we’d hate for your bag to end up in the trash because of a technical issue.
We’ve requested your information through Trustpilot so our team can take a closer look at the registration issue and help get your bag on its way.

Had used program in past with good results, NOT NOW!
Had used program in past, no issues, just trying to responsibly recycle, didn't use or care about their "rewards". Now, its just a SCAM: $25 for giant bag with QR code you scan to be able to register bag & print return label but NOTHING works. Can't print label from my phone, their account link didn't work and cannot log innto account or reset passwore. No help with their FAQ section either.

You essentially pay to do ate your clothes
Paid $60 (3 bags) for my old clothes to be sent to them and in return I got $8.33 to spend on a gift card. Made it seem as though I would receive $90 in credits and actually get something out of going to the post office and sending my clothes. They just said sorry for the misunderstanding and that I am not the first to do so. Would have been better off just donating my clothes and saving $60.

Hi Janine, thank you for sharing your feedback.
Trashie is first and foremost a textile recycling service designed to keep clothing, shoes, linens, and other textiles out of landfills. The rewards are intended to be an added benefit of participating, but we understand that customers sometimes come away with different expectations regarding the value they’ll receive.
We appreciate you giving the service a try and sharing your experience. Feedback like yours helps us continue improving how we communicate the program and rewards to new customers.

Trashie Cancellation and Lack of Resolution
I initiated Trashie service on 5/3/2026 and immediately cancelled it via their website and well within the cancellation window due to an issue with initial billing. I received a customer service response a few days later but I immediately reinforced that I still want to cancel the service. Their customer service agreed to cancel the service and refund my credit card on 5/6/2026. As of 5/16/2026, that has not happened and I am beginning to receive take back bags in the mail that I do not want. I have since initiated a dispute via my credit card since Trashie has been either unresponsive, ineffective, or deceptive in their communications and follow-up actions.
Response from TrashieMay 18, 2026
Hi, we’re so sorry about the experience here. Your cancellation request came through during a backend transition that temporarily limited our team’s ability to manually cancel or adjust memberships while our tech team worked on restoring that functionality. As soon as that access was available again, your membership was canceled and refunded as requested. You should’ve received an email with the refund details in your inbox.
We understand how disappointing the delay and mixed experience felt, especially when you had already made it clear that you wanted to cancel, and we appreciate your patience while this was resolved.

Bait and switch tactic
Purchased a 'Medium Tech Take Back Box' advertised with a $40 reward value. After paying $17.75+tax for the box and shipping the items, the company unilaterally changed their terms, devaluing the reward to $2. Company refused a refund, citing 'updated system' terms changed after the point of sale. This constitutes a bait-and-switch and deceptive trade practice.
Response from TrashieMay 1, 2026
Hi Jennifer, thank you for your feedback. Just to clarify, the older rewards used a 10:1 system, so 10 TrashieCash was about $1 in real value. Because of that, a 40TC reward back then wasn’t actually $40 in cash value; it was closer to about $4 in what you could redeem.
With the updated TrashieCash system, everything now shows as actual dollars. That’s why the number looks lower, but the value itself didn’t drop. We made this change to make reward values clearer and easier to understand.
We understand why that shift felt confusing and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Unlimited membership is not accurate
Trashie says they offer an unlimited membership but then they give you a limit or put your account on hold if you order more than 3-9 bags per year, they also don’t ever specify this. Shipping takes over a month to even get a bag and the “rewards” are not what they appear. I got an email after signing up for unlimited membership which said order as many bags as u want fill up send back get rewards . Have a ton of things to donate been around a while so figured hey this is some motivation and I can get rid of all this crap quickly and maybe earn a gift card for something useful like win win ..? Right? No lol paid for unlimited first email said no more than six bags per order than I waited idk a month ish to even get one set of bags today I got a package q three after emailing support 700 times already bc wth .. then I also got another email saying they noticed an unusual amount of bags and what was I using them for and notified me that my account is now on hold due to this and really the bags were 3-9 per year like totally not worth it been a nightmare since the get go trying to get a refund now . Don’t bother really it’s a mess
Response from TrashieApr 28, 2026
Hi Heather, we’re really sorry this has been such a headache from the start. We’re actively working on improving shipping times and know how important it is for bags to arrive when expected.
We also occasionally need to check in on accounts with unusually high order activity. That isn’t personal or directed at any one customer. It’s part of our Fair Use policy and helps us monitor the program because, unfortunately, some people do try to take advantage of the system. Those checks help keep Trashie Unlimited sustainable and available for genuine household use.
We really appreciate the feedback and the chance to keep improving.
