I am torn on my review for trashie. The take back bags work well. They give you next to nothing money wise for your items but it is convenient to just back it while you are cleaning. They take a lot of different items which is nice. I signed up for the annual membership and it has been working great so far BUT the bad really bad is the tak back toy box. They charge you extra for this in the annual membership and you do not get credit towards your earnings for these boxes. They also will charge you for this membership and it is not an available service at this time. It will be available again in September. As it is October 2026 do not pay for the membership it is annual and is not working. Hopefully will will get it soon.

Hi Traci, thank you for sharing your feedback! We're so glad to hear you've been enjoying our Take Back Bags and that your Unlimited membership has been working well for you! Our Toy Take Back Box is an optional $15 add-on for Unlimited members, and you should absolutely be earning TrashieCash for each Toy Box you register and send back to us! If you haven't received your TrashieCash, please reach out to our Customer Service team at [email protected] so we can look into it for you. We're also working to make the Toy Box available again very soon and appreciate your patience and continued support as we expand our recycling options!

I live in Hawaii and have been using Take Back Bags for a few years now. I recently ordered some but sadly, Trashie is no longer servicing Hawaii. I’m still giving them 5 stars because of the excellent customer service Airah provided. I was able to promptly get a refund for the purchased bags.

Hi Kathy, thank you so much for the kind review and for being part of Trashie over the years! While we're sorry we can no longer offer our Take Back Bag program in Hawaii, we're so glad Airah was able to help get your refund taken care of quickly. We really appreciate your support and the time you've spent recycling with us!

I have been a customer for several years. I use Trashie mostly for the eco-friendly option for recycling and renewing items too worn for donation to traditional donation services. So, I finally sprung for a unlimited membership. Instagram must have known I was looking at it because they continued to send me ads including a new deal for a reduced fee on the unlimited. I reached out to customer service as it was only a day or so later that I saw the ad, and I am happy to report that customer service adjusted the price to accommodate for the new promotion. This has been consistent with my experience over the years -- customer service has generally been responsive, helpful, and accommodating.

We really appreciate your continued support and commitment to keeping more textiles out of landfills!

I’ve used Trashie for almost two years and during that time it’s gotten more difficult to use. The mailing partners have dwindled from easy to use partners like FedEx to partners with fewer locations that are farther away- a key consideration when you are relying on public transportation and lugging heavy packages. I had bought several clean out kits for future use, but given these limitations find them less usable due to this issue.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for being part of Trashie for almost two years! We know convenient return options make a big difference, especially for customers who rely on nearby drop-off locations. The good news is that the current options are not intended to be permanent. We’re actively working to bring additional, more convenient return options online very soon, which will give customers more flexibility when sending their Take Back Bags back to us. We really appreciate your patience while we expand these options and hope the upcoming changes make Trashie much easier for you to use again!

I’m new to Trashie, although I was familiar with For Days. I’m in the process of clearing out the old stuff in my apartment and hate throwing textiles in the trash. So I asked ChatGPT and it recommended Trashie. I signed up for a year’s subscription and am delighted to have found it. Customer service has been very helpful

Hi Phyllis, thank you so much for the kind review! We’re so glad you found Trashie and that our team has been helpful as you get started. We really appreciate you choosing us to give those unwanted textiles a new path forward!

Don’t use Trashie if you live in an area that doesn’t have Fed Ex Easy Returns, which is now the only shipping return they offer. They told me to drive an hour. The CEO was involved in this so this type of customer service is coming from the very top!
Response from TrashieSep 30, 2026
Hi Carolin, thank you for sharing your feedback. We know convenient return options are especially important for customers who don’t have an eligible FedEx Easy Returns location nearby. Our Customer Service Manager followed up with you directly and was able to find a solution for your remaining Take Back Bags. We’re also actively working to bring additional return options online very soon, so the current Easy Returns QR code process is not intended to be the only option going forward. We appreciate your patience while we worked with you to find an alternative and your feedback as we continue improving the return experience.
