We started our 3 year old ShihTzu on The Farmer’s Dog earlier this year. She is a picky eater and has struggled with skin irritations. She absolutely LOVES the food and because the food is raw it has helped us so much in treating her skin irritations. Feeding Brynlee The Farmer’s Dog has been the best thing for her and we are grateful that there is a company that cares for our fur baby as much as we do!

MORE DECEPTION
Everyone of these companies is the same, they put all these flashy pictures on their website thinking that the general public thinks that vegetables are all healthy etc. etc.. Dogs ,just like wolves out the wild need to be consuming mostly meat products, the only vegetable matter they usually get is out of the stomachs of their prey of partially digested veg. they have a team of trained apologizers apologizing /placating profoundly for all the disappointments without really making any changes, they factor in a few lawsuits into the price of doing business, they're probably mixing up a bunch of grains and other fillers in with some cheap meat into a big pressed block and then shaving it down to make it look like fluffy hamburger to fool the humans eyes. All of the dogs vomiting and having bloody stool is because the big chunks of vegetables are ripping up their stomach lining. then of course the consumer is stuck in between the companies and their wholesome veterinarians who are just trying to sell their own food, for their own profits. Do your research look for terms like "species appropriate" food , get familiar with the terms just like the confusing world of eggs and meat, free roaming, free range, outdoor access, pasture raised , grass fed, grass finished etc. etc. and as far as human grade meet goes that they advertise, well according to the FDA what passes as human grade meat can be the cheapest hotdogs and spam, think Taco Bell meat out of a plastic bag hello? propaganda on top of propaganda on top of propaganda. as soon as you go onto the website you do not get a clear definition of what exactly is in the food you have to go through some process of getting into their system entering in your email address and then immediately taking to a purchase page to sign up for your "subscription." RED FLAGS ! They're not selling food they're selling subscriptions . And what about all the vegetables in this food that is supposedly so healthy, are they organic? Or are they conventional, loaded with glyphosate that's going to hurt your dogs microbiome? there's very little information on the page it has been very well crafted to get consumers locked into a subscription as quick as possible without a lot of attention to details and information. The consumer is probably left dealing with a bunch of "automated systems" just like when you're dealing with apps on your phone you can never get to a human being to get customer service. Meanwhile the credit card continues to be charged for the "subscriptions." RUN .

Mac meets the Farmer's dog. A love story.
The personal responses from staff and their genuine concern and willingness to communicate with dog parents. I have been texting with Casey and I can tell that she genuinely loves Mac and is interested in continuing to hear of his progress and how he enjoys his meals and seeing his growth through pics. It feels personal and not just a commercial exchange. I know you guys are true dog lovers and that is the deal breaker with commercialized dog food manufacturers with whom we do not stand a ghost of a chance of forming a personal relationship.

At the end of the day, we're just a team of dog people here to support other dog lovers! We love getting updates about how Mac is doing - please keep them coming. Always here for you two 😊

Nikko's Story
When we got Nikko at 10 weeks old, he had been in a 'big dog' rescue. It was a horrible place where they fed the dogs all at the same time once a day. Little Nikko had to fight the big dogs to get any food. Needless to say, he had food issues. It took several years for him to trust that his food was not going to be taken away. The result was Nikko gained more weight than he should have. We tried lots of weight-loss dog foods which did not work. We switched to Farmer's Dog on the recommendation of our (new) vet. It took a while but Nikko began losing weight. He was healthy and active, taking long walks with his dad.
Nikko passed away last month; he was 14. Despite the blindness, deafness, hip dysplasia, and arthritis, he was a happy boy. I think we got a couple of extra years due to his Farmer's Dog diet.
When we informed Casey (at Farmer's Dog) that Nikko had passed, they sent us a card with their condolences. A week later, Farmer's Dog sent us a plant to remember him by. This is not so much a review of Farmer's Dog food, but a statement of what an amazing company Farmer's Dog is. They not only care enough to make an excellent dog food, they care about their customers, the dogs. And obviously, they care about the dog's owners. A great company with great employees.
Do your dog a favor and switch to Farmer's Dog. You both will be better for it.

Thank you so much for sharing Nikko's story, Craig. It sounds like you gave this sweet pup the best life possible and we're so honored that we got to be a part of it. Everything we do, we do for dogs just like Nikko. We've been thinking of you and your family - please know our door is always open if you need anything in the future.

Farmer's dog (fd)
so I fell for the advertisement for fd. Ordered 2 weeks of food for 3 dogs, 2 bichons 8 and 7 years and 1 masstiff 2 years. Masstiff has no issues with the food but honestly, she would eat chicken poop if I let her. The bichon's are another story, they hate it. So much so that they take turns starving themselves, I hate making them starve until they will finally break down and eat something they hate. While their primary dog food is science diet, I also cook for them daily, eggs, meat, veggies, and of course yogurt with fresh blueberries. I though fd would save me time but the little ones won't eat it and I don't blame them, it smells stright up like poop to me. When I say it smells like poop I don't mean metaphorically I mean the first time I opened a pack I thought one of them had an accident. So after a week of trying offering it cold, warmed, with food, on the side I'm giving up. I now have a freezer full of food they won't eat, not to mention the money I wasted on it, ugh.

My dog was so happy this morning trying her first portion of farmer dog food and for my surprise on her plate was only left over her % of the science diet food portion that I gave her following the transition page from old food to her new food. She loved the food and now is seems to me won’t be any more hard time at food time since she is a picky eating and never eat her all food portion in one shot. I thankful I found such a good food so my dog feels happy and comfortable at her feed time.

A true fresh food fanatic! We love knowing our recipes help your dog find her appetite. Keep us posted on how she's doing. Thanks, Gisselle!
