Besides the fat content, which is deceptive. It was way to expensive for a 100 lb dog.1st delivery was on time 2nd delivery Sat at ups for five days and dry was gone and half the box was thawed, the replacement arrived half thawed as well they refunded my orders and we parted ways.

This company must’ve been sold
This company must’ve been sold. It seems they’re impossible to reach to change orders . Even if you’ve ordered only once, you’re stuck in a relentless loop- you’re married to your original order. Their questionnaire is invasive which you’re required to fill out before you’ve even decided whether to order. It’s useless to try getting out of their. Life is too short to waste time on Farmer Dog

UPDATE: Farmer's Dog Nearly Killed My Dog
UPDATE: Left our vet today and her exact words were “the baseline amount of calories needed to sustain life for Archie are 560 a day but he should be between 800 and 900”. Farmers Dog assigned him 462 a day. The only reason Archie is alive right now is because I noticed he seemed hungry and was adding kibble and he was stealing food. Never in a million years would I have thought or known that Farmers Dog had him at a baseline amount of calories that was lower than what is needed to sustain life.
Also this company has yet to take any responsibility and has blamed this entire situation on their algorithm and me. When you sign up and communicate with them they don’t say to contact your vet to confirm calories or plan. That language is buried in a lawyer speak disclaimer when you sign up. This is all so wrong and neglegent. DO NOT SIGN YOUR DOG UP FOR THIS COMPANY.
I signed up for Farmers Dog for my 7 year old male Brittany dog in hopes to switch him to the healthiest food possible.
Upon initially signing up I filled out a questionnaire that asked for my dogs breed, age, weight, activity level, treats given per day, and desired weight if applicable. I noted that he was extremely active and was starting at 43 lbs with a desired weight of 40 lbs. I communicated with a specialist who I assumed had the knowledge and training to prescribe the correct amount of food for my dog. I could not have been more wrong.
The food was shipped and the daily allotted amounts were specified without calories listed. Throughtout the two months we fed him the food I started to notice he seemed hungry and I added some kibble to the alotted amounts. He was intent on stealing food and we soon noticed he had visibly had lost weight.
When we weighed him we saw that he had gone from 43 lbs to 36.8 lbs in 2 months which is 14% of his body weight and incredibly dangerous. I contacted Farmers Dog and discovered they had allotted him 462 calories a day when the lowest recommended calorie amount for his breed and activity level is 900-1200 a day. The amount of calories they prescribed him was at starvation level. I have a vet apt for him this week and don’t know the long term effects this may have on him. Thankfully I had been supplementing with some kibble and he had successfully stolen food from our toddler or this could have ben even worse potentially fatal.
When I reached out the initial suggestion was to increase 15% which still puts him in starvation level. I was told that “their algorithm” was responsible for this. I trusted that this company had qualified people making these assessments and I could not have been more wrong. They are a danger to any pet they are responsible for determining a food amount for. I thoroughly believe they need to be shut down. This is pure negligence and animals lives are on the line.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We do not take an experience like this lightly — the health, well-being, and safety of every pup we're entrusted to feed is our highest priority.
Hopefully it's reassuring to know our recipes and recommended portions are formulated by Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionists to be complete and balanced for healthy dogs. Recommended portions take all the information entered upon sign up, accounting for calories from treats, as well as our food’s high digestibility and bioavailability as a starting point.
With that said, we understand every dog is unique and their needs can change over time. This is why communication with pet parents is so important, particularly when it comes to monitoring a dog's weight and body condition. For that reason, we send monthly email check-ins asking for updated dog details, and every dogs daily calories can be found in each customer’s online account for both reference and easy adjustments.
We have appreciated the chance to connect with you directly and make sure you and Archie are both supported however we can. Our door is always open.

Gave My Dog Pancreatitis
The good: My dog seemed to like the food.
The bad: This food gave her pancreatitis!!
I got a trial box of food and found that it was not agreeing with my dog but I thought it was just due to the transition period. Her stomach would gurgle all night, she started having a lot of gas, and extremely soft greasy stool. Things got worse from there so I stopped feeding her the food and cancelled my subscription but the damage was done. She started waking me up several times a night which was unlike her. I had a feeling I would be taking to take her to the vet the following week. I had to take her in sooner rather than later due to her being up all night panting in pain. Told my vet I had recently changed her food and she immediately said we needed to do a lipase test. Found out she has pancreatitis and I came to find out there are numerous cases that appear to be linked to this brand of food. Nothing else in my dog’s diet changed so I know it was this food.
I was most annoyed that customer service tries to suggest maybe my dog needed a longer transition but it had been 5-6 weeks. Anything to keep the money coming in. I ended up sending them a copy of my vet bill and requested a refund on my last order which they did provide.

I AM NO SUCKER
"I AM NO SUCKER"
I have an extensive history of working for large ad agencies in NYC (and once, on a dog food brand). So I am very aware of the techniques used to get viewers' attention and sway them to buy the product.
I love dogs (and all animals) and have a dog myself. The current Farmer's Dog TV commercial is just soooo sad that it makes me angry. I turn down the volume each time it comes on.
When I started having this reaction, I went to AI and sure enough, I am not alone. Many other people have negative reactions to this commercial. Furthermore, apparently there are issues with the quality of the food.
I am sure you are very aware of the negative reactions to this commercial.
Your ad agency has gone way too far with this commercial, and you got suckered into approving it!
I am grateful that I am no sucker.

Farmer's dog is being sued for fraud
Farmer's dog is being sued in a class action lawsuit for misrepresentation, it took our 12 pound Dog and made him 19 pounds in less than nine months because of how they rate their fat and calorie consumption is completely a fraud. We're having a hard time with special food from the vet to get him to lose weight. I would recommend that everybody that has farmer's dog now to cancel and I recommend nobody to get on it. Because your dog will just gain weight. I would recommend going on the internet and reading the class action suit against farmers. Dog for misrepresentation and damaging dog's health.

Thank you so much for reaching out about your experience, Bill. We're sorry your experience fell short of expectations, and are happy to provide a bit more clarity around our algorithm and daily portions.
When it comes to calorie recommendation, we consider large-scale real-world data in addition to each pup’s initial profile information. While we're confident in our algorithm, we do also recognize that each dog is unique and portion adjustments may be necessary depending on their individual metabolisms which can vary similar to how humans can vary as well. With this in mind, each recommendation is a starting point and we do appreciate working in partnership with each customer. We're here 24/7 to ensure a dog’s details remain up to date, and are always happy to assist with adjusting portions when necessary based on each dog’s individual needs as they arise.
All that said, we deeply value your feedback, and are always working to improve. So that we can fully support you, please reach out to us at [email protected] — we’re here to help.

These people don't care about your animal and will lie to you just to make a sale.
This company issue is their lack of concern for any animal much less yours. I ordered this food and told them my dog had sever pancreatitis and had to be low fat chicken. They sent beef full fat and threw my dog almost into hospital again. Then while dealing with that had to send them email not to send any more food. They put very short time frame on there and sent wrong food again. I called demanding refund; they refunded my money. They offered to send more for free, and I turned it down because I didn't know or what I was going to do with dog who had issues with farmers dog food. Three weeks after the wrong food being sent, I started with 1 teaspoon of food combined with 2 teaspoons of gastrointestinal food. Now almost 10 weeks later I was going to try again with them, but only if I had control of when they sent food and the right food. Called and email they never made any attempt to contact to restart food order. I refuse to restart wrong food delivery because they can't or won't provide what was purchased. The only reason I made any attempt was because 1 dog like it and other dog can't eat all of the food in bad before it goes bad because of her condition. Now I will switch other dog to Ollie which they both have tried and liked just have to transition to something different. I was trying to keep from both dogs going thru it but with failed customer service of farmer dogs it is best because I won't have to deal with their failures anymore. Don't use farmer dog try Fresh Pet or Ollie's gave much more response for customers who want the best for their animal.
Now a week later respond shows that you don't care or have a business model set out to help animals. I was told had to speak to same person who took order 1st time when I called. That was a lie. Then the person never called and back. So, you can't speak to someone unless you get 1st person you spoke, really this is your business model. Plus, upon research this company I find you have possible lawsuit over fat content of dog food. Exactly what happen to my dog. You responded to review but did not respond customer. Defines you are not interested in helping dog only profits and possible scam now I see possible malpresentation of dog food fat content.
