Great customer service. The only draw back I could see was the pricing! It’s a bit pricey. My dog seemed to like it. Thought I could afford it, but it ended up up being almost the price of a low priced car payment. lol

Tuesday 22nd July. The work lads and I decided to go for a 200 mile round road trip. First to the farm shop. firstly Huge que. We qued up for 20min before seeing people walk threw the que to the bar at the back. Not being overly bothered with the shop we did the same. Wow cracking beer . First larger. Not to my tast. But go with the experience. Next the sech. Ok but nothing special. Third up ipa . Much better . Forth up hawkstone black. Wow what a stout. Gutted I can't buy some to take home as selling out fast. Bacon and egg cob. But pricey but good quality food. So worth the £10. Next up farmers dog. Still a fantastic experience. Even bigger que. But more stout for us. Worth the weight. The experience was fantastic. The shop i did go in this time. Reasonable prices. Hops and chops . Well a big let down . I had hoped for the same quality products I had that day. Every thing I bought was fresh that days package. But that's where the good stops. Bacon realy thin. £8 for a pack and tasteless . Burgers £8 for 4 ok it was high meat contact but all gristle. Every bite I got cartilage and stuff I dent think off. Sausage. Chilli and mustard . Wow ok best Sausage I have ever had. Realy good quality. Pork pie. Ok but nothing special. In all honesty if I go back it will not be for the butchers . But just the experience and the hawkstone black.

This is long. I don't do reviews; but in this case i am going to do it so bear with me. Robin and Ingus are border collie/blue heeler cross. They are 13 years old now, they are littermates, and were born in my house (I watched their birth). For the first year of their lives, I made their food from minimmaly cooked venison and elk we hunted, added organic starches, berries, veggies, and nutritional supplements to round things out. We have a small farm and they are hard working dogs. Sometime around their 11th year there, was a noticeable drop in their vitality. Robin started having joint issues as well as one bout with a cancerous growth, and they were not as vigilant about everything going on with the livestock as they had been. We bought 'quality' kibble, did not over vaccinate, dewormed when fecals called for it, etc. I believed minimally processed or raw meat protein was missing from their diet. Raw can be scary, because it is hard to trust the processing of it, and internal parasites in the meat can't be controlled without some form of heat being applied. I saw a commercial for The Farmers Dog, in May of 2024, and decided to try it. I am not a wealthy person, but I am willing to spend the maximum I can afford on my pets and livestocks' nutrition. At the time of this review, Ingus and Robin act like they did the first decade of their lives. Eyes are clear and alert, coats shine, they are back to playing with each other, and getting excited about every little thing again. I can not afford to feed this dog food exclusively, so I have supplement with BB dry kibble once a day, in the evenings, and a small amount of a raw/min processed frozen kibble I have come to trust, every other day. My pups ARE BACK at 13! Robin can jump on the sofa now... but not the bed, yet :). Dogs are so resiliant and can tolerate dry kibble for a big part of their lives... but when they reach their golden years... the toll it takes on them becomes evident... they are carnivores, and we need to feed them as close to how they are designed as we safely can. Oh, and by the way, I am getting pretty darn sick of them waking me at 6:00 am, on weekends, for their Farmers Dog!!! 4 stars due to price but 5 stars for quality and results I have seen in my pups.

Reading about Robin and Ingus’s improvement is truly uplifting. It’s clear how much effort and care you’ve put into their nutrition over the years, and we’re thrilled we could help them regain their vitality. Balancing cost and quality is important, and we appreciate your thoughtful approach. Thank you for your detailed review and for letting us be a part of their journey 🧡

Food was tasty per my dog’s reaction. Only complaint I had was that the company includes a hard paper tray/bowl with a plastic lid in every single box. I believe anyone who can afford this food probably owns at least one dog bowl, perhaps two. The tray and plastic lid are superfluous. Please ask TFD to not send these bowls, or at least ask them to provide a Yes/No answer box where customers can state whether they want them included or not. There’s enough single-use plastic being brought into this world on a daily basis. I actually put the food straight into my dog’s bowl, and I still have the wasteful tray and lid in a cupboard. I have a hard time discarding unused items. (And, yes, I know it can be recycled.) I actually stopped buying the product because I hated to see this waste. I have no idea what kind of pollution is given off in the creation of PET 1 plastic. Maybe someone can tell me.

My 15 year old Bichon recently had some teeth pulled & I switched from his kibble to Farmers Dog which he really enjoys. My only concern is that the Vet recommended food with less than or equal to 15% fat content. Farmers dog food is about twice that which is my only concern.

My dogs love the food. However, my concerns are as follows: 1) their billing practice. They bill way in advance of shipping so you can be billed an extra cycle in a month. I don’t think they should bill 7 days in advance of shipment. 2) the packaging weight is inconsistent. My dogs get 2 days of food per package and I feed them twice per day, so I weigh the food on a very accurate scale and divide the number by 4. Some packages have been way under weight of previous packages. They also have been mixing up the labels on the packaging. One dog is larger and gets the bigger package, but in the last two shipments some of the packages label them the opposite. 3) one dogs packages have a lot more water in the food while the other dogs food is much drier. Not sure if this is done purposely to increase their profits. Overall, my larger dog is a very picky eater and I would have to change her kibble every 6-8 weeks because she would stop eating it. I’ve had her on Farmer’s dog food for the past 6-8 months and she hasn’t refused the food once. I am concerned that I’m starting to see quality control issues with portion sizes and labeling, though and I hope they get this under control for the hundreds of dollars I pay them each month.
