NO TRANSPARENCY
The Farmer's Dog is not transparent in pricing. I communicated with this company through 5 emails asking a simple and direction question: "For my dog's meal plan, how much does each complete bag of food cost AND how many complete bags of food will I receive? The Farmer's Dog refuses to give me a direct answer. They will only state prices in terms of number of meals, total cost of meals, etc. These pricing questions are important because The Farmer's Dog does calculations based on what they determine is the dog's daily caloric intake. My vet states that, using the same information that I gave The Farmer's Dog (age/weight/neutered, etc), that my dog would require 25% more calories per day than what The Farmer's Dog calculated. Therefore, the pricing that The Farmer's Dog is offering me is presumably 25% less than what my actual costs would be (fewer calories quoted = less money/pricing/cost). I would highly recommend that other consumers ask their Vet how many daily calories their dog(s) needs to consume. If your Vet recommends more calories than what The Farmer's Dog is recommending, then that means the cost of the meal plans to the consumer will actually cost more than what The Farmer's Dog is telling you. This is why they will not tell you the cost per bag, nor tell you have many bags are going to be delivered to you. They also will tell you that they can't give you a weight for the bag because of water, plans, etc. Any other product will always have a weight listed regardless of water, etc. The Farmer's Dog is not transparent in the actual cost to the consumer. Buyer beware.
