I have a beagle and a basset hound that were both over weight. They have been on The Farmer's Dog food for about 6 weeks, and they both have lost weight and are full of energy. They love the food! Recently, my basset hound began itching so we are ruling out any food allergy. She currently is eating turkey, chicken, and beef, so customer service recommended staying on one food for 4 days and seeing what happens. I was on the phone for about 25 minutes with customer service and the representative answered all of my questions and was very helpful. The food is worth the price and my dogs are more energetic. I can't wait for the well check at the vet this Monday. I want to hear what the vet says about the weight loss and more energy. Great company!

You can tell the quality of the food is good, but it's expensive for larger dogs. My main concern is we had to stop because our dog started eating a lot of dirt and trying to actually eat sticks when we put him on this. As soon as we put him on a nice senior kibble, it stopped. Not sure if he was missing some nutrients from the Farmer's Dog food or what. I was disappointed it didn't work out.

my dog was starving on this food when I asked them how much food in ounces they are sending for my dog they said they don't calculate by weight but my vet dose it should have been 1 oz per pound of her body weight equaling 10 ounces per day and they sent 6 ounces per day my dog was starving then they said due to moisture content they don't weigh food well I thought moisture added weight tried to talk in circles don't be scared at your pets expense

Found the food to be a great quality product and the customer service was some thing I miss from other companies. Any product with good customer service Is important to find these days. A++ company & product

My rescue Chiweenie has had terrible digestive issues. I made the switch to Farmer's Dog two months ago, and he's thriving. His coat is shinier, his movements are firmer, and he just seems happier. I can't recommend this product enough-- and the staff is great to work with if you're traveling and want the items sent to different places. Plus, he's loving the treats!

We've been feeding our dogs Farmer's Dog for about a month now, and we couldn't be happier. They're looking and feeling great, and we're constantly getting compliments on how fantastic they look. Huge thanks to Farmer's Dog!

Truly exceptional customer service. We started our large, older pittie on Farmers Dog at vet urging to get him off kibble. Like some other reviewers, it has taken us awhile to get calories/nutritional value right for him. He originally lost weight on the “maintain weight” plan, so we moved him to a “gain weight” plan. He is gaining back nicely. We’ll see if we have to stay on that plan, which is, of course, more expensive. He loves the food (he’s never been an enthusiastic eater) and is more energetic and generally perkier. Worth the effort.
