Horrible
Horrible. I feel like I’ve been scammed. And they kept some of my money for 3 days of BS and a therapist with an attitude. Would NOT recommend!

THE WORST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE. I finally convinced someone very close to me to sign up and begin the Talkspace process. An appointment was scheduled for 5 days later and this person was actually looking forward to speaking with the assigned therapist. We all were cautiously optimistic and hopeful. And then the so called therapist actually stood up my friend and left them waiting for 10 minutes for their very first session. When she finally bothered to make contact she barely offered an explanation and absolutely no apology. Now the moment has passed and my friend, who was skeptical to begin with, does not want to continue to seek help. Finally to make matters worse we emailed Talkspace support (3 times), and have not received a response. The same ideals they claim to support and uphold they have totally disregarded. To miss your very first therapy session is disgraceful and unacceptable. I would let you know how Talkspace feels about this, but they have yet to reply.

Here's how my first month went: Waited several days to be assigned a therapist. Schedule with them at their first available date (almost two weeks out). The day comes and they cancel. I find this unprofessional and request a new therapist. Again, several days wait to be assigned a new one. Again, I have to wait almost a week to meet them. At this point the first month (nearly $500) is almost over and I've never received any therapy. I meet with the therapist and he's actually decent, but my month is almost up. I ask customer service to extend me a second month for free (or a few weeks) to make up for all my lost/wasted time so far. (All of my tickets to customer service have always taken several days for them to respond to by the way, if they even respond at all) They tell me I can still use my session credits beyond my subscription expiration date as long as book them before the month is up; No problem, I do it. The day comes for me to meet with the therapist for the second time (second month now) and big surprise, I can't. I open a customer support ticket to ask about this and they tell me the sessions don't roll over. I literally sent them a screenshot of a different agent telling me they would. No resolution whatsoever is offered and the screenshot is not acknowledged. At this point, I'm over it. This "service" has done more harm to my mental health and stress than good. I want my money back. Welp, good luck getting it back from them... They regularly CLOSE SUPPORT TICKETS without so much as an automated response. Just straight up close them. I have never heard of a company doing something so unethical. Give me my money back, this company is a joke.

Over a two+ year period I tried to use Talkspace. Out of the 7 "therapists" I tried ONE was decent, (but she left the platform) and the rest were horrible. I'm pretty sure the final one I tried was actually a bot, not human. I preferred the asynchronous messaging feature over televideo so I did not test this theory out by trying to see the provider on video. The responses were all garbled regurgitations/exact quotes of things I had typed, with weird non-sensical sentences peppered throughout, and some links to generic "mindfulness" exercises that had nothing to do with what I had written thrown in for good measure. Previous providers were hardly better than the bot; maybe even worse. Their advice, when they had any, was stuff along the lines of "you just need to make more to for self care but it sounds like you don't have any time for this right now," or "you should exercise more." I tried to switch providers numerous times over these two years and was usually met with an error message and long wait times to even have the option of seeing a new provider. Their customer "support" is a joke. I highly doubt most of their "therapists" are even credibly licensed. I had to explain to one therapist what borderline personality disorder is because she had no idea and thought I was talking about bipolar. It's so aggravating to be in a place in your life where you are already stressed/anxious and it takes a lot out of you to try to do something vulnerable like this to help yourself out... only to be met with incompetent counselors and an ineffective customer support staff.

They don't have a customer service phone number, so I had to email them about charges made to my HRA for services I never received. In the email I let them know I received no receipt from them in my email. They finally responded 18 days later on 5/17/22 saying "Can you please provide me with the email associated with your account. Without that I am unable to assist." I asked them why they couldn't assist with my card information. They responded the next day, 5/18/22 "I work in the billing department and was trying to assist. I will send this ticket to customer support. Good Luck!" It is now 5/24/22 and I have yet to hear from anyone. I had to dispute the charges through CareFirst.

My wife paid for an initial consultation. She was immediately billed the moment she was "matched" to a therapist. However, after many weeks the therapist never responded to any of my wife's messages and Talk Space did nothing to expedite assignment to a therapist with openings. We filled a BBB complaint. We also contested the charge with our credit card company, who ruled in our favor and prevented payment to Talk Space, determining they had charged us for a service they never rendered.

If I could give less stars I would, my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness last year. I reached out to talk space since my insurance recommended I try. I signed up and waited 2 weeks to get assigned a therapist. That was a long wait when your dealing with watching your husband die in front of you. I have a full time job and he has doctor appointments everyday. I have to take him to those. I I set up an appointment. Guarded that time from my husbands doctors. Made arrangements so I could miss work (I work from home) and drove to find a place to be alone. The therapist cancelled the appointment. So 3 weeks later I am starting over. Run fast rom these people if you need help l.

I paid $296 for a live plan, exchanged messages with three therapists but they said they wouldn't deal with my problem. So within one day I realized that there was no point to further explore Talkspace and I requested cancellation and a refund. Cancellation was easy but the refund was only $222. My multiple attempts to contact the support team were useless.
