I wish zero stars was on option
I wish zero stars was on option; I feel like a one star review is way too generous! I feel completely swindled by this company.
Paid $365 for a 90 min evaluation and 30 minute follow-up apt with a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist told me to seek an ADHD evaluation locally. The appointment was 30 min. Absolutely zero services were rendered.
I reached out to talkspace customer support to file a complaint and request a refund. I never received either, however, the status of my claim says "solved." Avoid this company!!!

Talkspace is JUNK!
It took a great deal of courage to finally sign up here. More than you know, especially with my esteem issues, and my trust issues when it comes to vendors. But I did it. I signed up for your messaging-only service.
But then my ONLY match was to somebody who doesn't do "messaging only", and he sent me on my way.
So I left his chat, wrestled for a bit, and then picked out a new provider. This time I picked out the ONLY person listed that didn't explicitly say that they don't support "messaging only". And guess what... he doesn't do "messaging only" either.
I've given up. It's hard-enough to get through the stigma of asking for help, and when I finally do, I'm sent packing... TWICE!
I feel chewed up and spat out by your company. I feel even worse about vendors than I did before I started out. I'll likely not try again to get the help I so-desperately need, because I'm so sick and tired of the bureaucracy or some other such impediment standing between me and therapy.
I'm embarrassed to have shown you my vulnerabilities, and I think you're playing a dangerous game leading me on with the hopes of some solace, and providing only more dead ends, by people who can assume no liability by saying, "I'm only a contractor".
I call BS, talkspace, and I'm angry with you for exploiting me when I lay naked at your feet.
Thanks for nothing.
After all the negative reviews I went in to delete my credit card info, but THAT'S NOT AN OPTION!
Instead, I've changed my billing zip and my CC Expiry date so that you can't "accidentally" charge it again like you seem to do with so many other people.

I was ramrodded--assigned to a therapist--without the benefit of making a choice. TalkSpace touts having over 3,000 licensed therapists in their network, but I was only showed one. I was immediately billed for a monthly subscription, before I had texted, "how do to change therapists?" The only customer service I got was a bot, which is very annoying when you need a human.

Hi there,
Thank you for contacting Talkspace!
We appreciate your patience as you waited for our response. We are working through high volume and want you to know that we sincerely value you as a Talkspace member.
I'd be happy to look further into this for you.
Upon checking, I see that your room is under Optum BH Unlimited Sessions Messaging or Video Voucher with provider Mary Oneafolu. It doesn't show that you have created a room under your EAP provider. Do you mind providing me with the authorization code that was given to you? This way I can try to create the room with your EAP code.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Warmly,
Lena

This messaging started on March 3rd! In the mean time, I have been consistently overdrawn in my bank account as a result of this issue. It will soon be 1 month since this correspondence began. You offered me three sessions (as per email) for my EAP Referral (attached), which I declined and cancelled service. I feel a refund in the amount of the 3 offered sessions in overdue This will not even cover the overdraft fee I have incurred. Please respond expeditiously, as my financial health is terrible. I tried your service to try and alleviate stress in my life, and your service has doubled it!
If you can not address this, please elevate to the appropriate person.

the place where therapy comes to die
I got a membership through work, for 10 min audio/ video session and unlimited messages. No idea why people actually pay for this out of pocket, because it can't be more of a useless experience.
I changed a few therapists over the course of two years, trying to finally form some connection and all I got back was extremely superficial answers, no answers at all for days and weeks, or arrogant therapist introducing themselves as doctors and telling me basically that I should bother them as little as possible.
Lots of people think this is a scam, I think it is a legit horrible business that makes money taking advantage of peoples' need for help, hiring some desperate therapists who are there just to make some extra money.
Maybe it was just my membership, but I did not find one therapists on this platform who was actually interested in a real communication, or give any thoughtful, helpful advise.
The answers, when there were any, consisted of some links where I was supposed to go and read some generic stuff. I can do that without talkspace.
Actually I got more useful advise on Quora, than on this platform.
When somebody writes to you that they have an issue and they feel down, and you can let days pass without a reaction, you are in the wrong job.
Therapy works when there is trust and connection, when the patient feels safe to express what they feel, when there is a compassionate response and interest for their problems.
Talkspace therapists are robots, who want to do nothing and make money.
And also, "doctor" is a title, not your name, so stop saying your name is doctor x. Your name is what appears on your birth certificate, so maybe exercise less arrogance and more real compassion and care, and your patients would get to actually respect you.
If you are bad or mediocre at your job, we couldn't care less about your title. And in my experience a person who is a doctor and actually good at their job, would never say they are a doctor, would let you discover their level of experience and education/ intelligence/ expertise through their work.

A company who wants to help people but doesn’t seem to care about people.
First and foremost my therapist was excellent and even tried talking to customer service to help me.
Customer service is AWFUL! They don’t bill per session so my insurance wouldn’t cover it. All I needed was them to bill per session but no one from customer service will respond. There is no contact phone number, nothing.
For a company who wants to help people, they do an awful job at it.

This is a scam company
This is a scam company. They asked to sign up for an account then asked a bunch of basic multiple choice questions, then asked for insurance info and my credit card. At the end they asked when I wanted to have my first appt. and said they'd find a therapist who could do that time. That's when I realized it was a bad service - I need to be able to choose my own therapist based on specific needs I have. Needs that in no way were addressed through the questionnaire. So I did not make an appointment at all, but instead tried to delete my account. There was absolutely no way to do it. It would only let me on the page saying, "click to make your appointment" with no other options. It said something like "be aware you will be charged for this appointment." Well, I made no appt. and agreed to no charge, but then found a $10 charge on my credit card. I had to cancel my credit card to avoid being scammed for more money. What a horrible company. All the positive reviews on their own website must be part of the scam, because there's absolutely no way they could have a 4.7 star rating with what they're doing.
