The provider didn't confirm my appointment: ``Your provider Dr. Dammy Bamisile has not yet confirmed that they can attend the session on their end and so we’ve gone ahead and automatically cancelled the session out of respect for your time. We never want you waiting longer than 48 hours to get a confirmation.`` and there were no other providers available.

Unless your insurance covers your care, steer very clear. Very shady billing, cancellation policy, and inept customer service. I had a provider that was unavailable for extended periods of time, and talkspace was so unhelpful in general. Almost as stressful as the reasons I signed up for therapy in the first place.

I didn’t get the help that I needed there never was anyone available to talk. When I got someone they would take hours to answer. It maybe convenient but not very helpful.

I signed up for an hour, by 45 mins the therapist was trying to wrap it up. It seemed like he kept a checklist of things I said to talk about and then just checked them off thinking we “solved” everything. I was expecting to have several sessions unpacking some issues, not just 45 minutes.

I was really nervous to start therapy. I thought, okay, so I tell this person my whole life story, but will they get it? Will they know how to "fix" me? Is it worth the investment? The answers I quickly found were...yes, my therapist "got it" and in the most non-judgmental way. I simply felt seen and validated and that in itself was healing. The point isn't to have someone else "fix" you. You are already whole. My therapist helped me see that I'm not broken, I just needed to face "programs" my brain made up along my journey of life. He gave me tools that actually worked and work to this day. It's worth the investment. If I don't spend the money now, I'd be scared to see where I would be in 5 years. It's worth it. I was lucky (or not :) ) to have been matched up with a GREAT therapist first try. My therapist knew exactly what methods would work best for me and always held me accountable (in a gentle way of course!). Just go for it, friend. As you heal, we all heal, and this world could use more good (I know that probably sounds cheesy to you right now and maybe a little annoyingly positive, but one day it will make sense if you make the change and trust yourself).

Never heard back from the counsellor.

Couldn't have a meeting successfully. Did not receive any notifications before the meeting time so if we had set it up a month back, there is no way of remembering this if it falls on a weekend. Also, the lady who I had to meet with, did not propose any alternative. Just projected a fake apology. Looked like she was almost teasing me and then asked me to deactivate my profile. So, my overall experience was not good. I also gave up on any therapy that I had earlier wished to take. If it is so mechanical, I wonder what will make me comfortable sharing my life and experience and my situations with strangers. Don't remember the date anymore and entering one for the purposes of submission.

My therapist is very kind and genuine. Most of the time I just need someone to vent to and she is always there turning it into a learning experience.
