I'd give them negative stars if I could.
My first appointment was with a psychiatrist who was vetting me to place me with a therapist. The psychiatrist wouldn't even be helping me with my actual issues. I have been dealing with Talkiatry for almost a month trying to get an appointment with someone and have been canceled on three different times just for them to call me and tell me that the therapists that take my insurance are no longer taking any new patients, and then proceeded to "offer" me an out of pocket pay option or be on a wait list for 6-8 weeks. Mind you, I explained how much I am mentally struggling and the concern for mood and personality disorders were brought up as a serious concern for me. It felt more like a way to drag someone along, break them down, and use it as a money grab. This company is very unprofessional and does not put the mental health of a patient first.

Fraudulent, misleading, and the epitome of the bleak state of American healthcare
I have tried to have an appointment with 2 different Talkiatry providers, once in 2023 and again in 2025. They allow you to book online with a provider for a specific date and time, and then cancel on you and rebook you with whomever they choose, regardless of why you chose a specific provider, and then send you a bill over a year later that never went through insurance.
The issue with providers happened to me twice - the first time they matched me with a horrendous sham of a psychiatrist who refused to treat me because I had tried an experimental treatment for depression under the care of a different provider, regardless of the fact that it 1) was medically prescribed and 2)I was no longer receiving this treatment nor under the care of that provider. We had less than 15 minutes of intake/conversation because she refused to take me on as a patient.
Then came the bill. My original appointment was in 2023, and I got the bill in April 2024. It was never processed through insurance, and I was unable to make a claim with insurance - it was too late, past the grace period for prior year claims. That also meant I could not use my FSA to pay for my appointment. Not to mention that this was more than $100 more than any rate I have ever seen when paying out of pocket. At the end of the day I had to pay multiple hundreds of dollars out of my bank account for no service or treatment.
Two years later I am in need of a new provider because my current is no longer taking my insurance. I book online again, forgetting about my initial runaround on providers. This time they just pre-emptively cancelled the appointment and requested a call back to rebook as a return visit. Upon calling back, they said they first wanted to send me back to the provider I saw 2 years ago, despite the fact that she dropped me as a patient. Then, when I said I would not work with this provider, they said they would try to rebook me but wouldn’t uphold the date or time, and would not guarantee a provider. At this point I said no thank you - you’re not getting my business.
Many telehealth companies are getting a bad rap for unfounded reasons - this is NOT one of them. This company deserves so much more bad press than they have received.

Terrible
Terrible! They were to pre-authorize my insurance. They said I would have a small out of pocket. They set me up with a non covered therapist and are now trying to collect $400+ from me. I would recommend any other app.

Only For The Wealthy
This is what's broken with our mental healthcare system: Predatory companies seeking to gain a massive profit from people who are suffering. Sound familiar?
They charged me $550 per 30-minute session with my psychiatrist (He moved to Talkiatry from his own private practice, so I followed him). My insurance only covered $250 of each session, leaving me to pay the remaining $300. My meetings were only "maintenance meetings" (lasting only about 15-20 minutes of the given 30-minute block) to make sure I'm still doing well on my prescribed dose of medication. Since leaving Talkiatry, I signed up with a different online company to just prescribe me my medication for $30/month, instead of paying Talkiatry $300 per maintenance meeting (and THEN paying for the medication).
Edit: I'm bumping this to the top because it seems like a bunch of fake 5-star reviews came in recently, and I want people to see the reality of this company.

Don’t waste your time.
I was supposed to have a 10:00 am appointment with Dr. Nidhi Sharoha. I logged on to the link that was sent to me an hour before my appointment. I waiting on the call for 15 minutes before receiving a text message that my appointment was canceled. I was confused as to why the appointment was canceled so I logged online to chat with a representative in the online chat portal. I was then told that I did not show up for the appointment and I was going to be charger $100 for no showing. So I then called to talk to a person and they tried blaming it on me again. I was then told that the doctors office tried to reach out to me to get in touch with me because of “technical difficulties” but I received no calls, no text messages, no emails explaining that the doctor was having technical problems. So first the story was that it was my fault, then it was the doctors fault, yet she never tried to reach out and explain that. After explaining that I was on the call and didn’t “no show” they finally agreed to submit a claim to get the $100 removed from my account. As the appointment is an hour long, the doctor had plenty of time in her schedule to reach out to me. I would’ve gladly have done the appointment over the phone phone instead of a video chat. It is clear that Nidhi Sharoha does not care about her patients time as she never once tried to reach out. I took time off of work for this appointment, time that I will no longer be able to get back. An hour later, I received a call from her office directly, after being told I could not get in touch with the office directly, asking me if I wanted to “schedule an appointment”. She waited until after the hour long appointment time was up to have her secretary call me to reschedule, which insinuates that she never once tried to join the call or reach out to me. I’m assuming she simply does not take her job seriously and has no respect for other people’s time. There was serious disconnect between the customer service people and the office workers. It was a complete waste of time but I now know that this company does not take their appointments seriously and I shouldn’t waste my time. Dr. Nadhi Sharoha did not care enough ti reschedule or even give me the time of day, but was comfortable with charging me $100 for something that was no my fault. Good to know that this company is simply a money grab and nothing else. Don’t waste your time with Dr. Sharoha or any other “doctor” from this website.

Extremely poor experience
Extremely poor experience. I didn't even get a visit before I was canceled on. These people took my information, took my insurance then cancelled my appointment saying they don't actually take it. Though I have an email, and a screenshot of their website telling me otherwise.
It's clear just from this, these people are money hungry and not here to help people heal

The psychiatrist I am seeing is Natalie Cummings.
The psychiatrist I am seeing, Natalie Cummings,MD, is friendly and easy to talk to. She responds to messages that I send to her in a timely fashion. She is understanding and is diligent about following through with necessary tasks.
